The premise behind the school is amazing, unfortunately, despite amazing teachers it does not rise to its claims or expectations. We had two children in Explore and found they spent more time on the computer than they did with actual instruction. There were no standards or expectations relayed to us as parents. It was very difficult to even attempt to follow the “curriculum”. In fact I don’t believe there really was one. Ask for it and KM will require you to file an open records request. If you question the process, you’re made to feel like your child is just not a good fit for that environment. In fact, there is no actual process to speak of. Your children will be left to their own devices, literally… their chrome books. Our nine year old was told she couldn’t raise her hand to ask a question or approach the teacher who was “too busy” to help her. In a conference, the teacher told me directly that she purposely ignores students who come up to ask a question so they “learn that she is busy and go away”. We were told our 9 year old needed to email the teacher her questions. She was in person and still expected to email. How cold. It took weeks to get a simple answer back.Principal Otto is rude and unhelpful. I’ve never interacted with somebody so disinterested in parental engagement. We have subsequently switched our children to a different school where they are thriving. I am very upset that it took me two years at Explore to see through the rhetoric and realize there simply is insufficient content and accountability. Sorry to those who are offended by this honest account of our experience, but the community deserves to know.

We have had our children in 3 other elementary schools and this school has exceeded every expectation for quality education. The teachers are caring and knowledgeable, the students form a strong bond and are like a family and this is the first school that are academically gifted child is actually challenged and finally shows growth again!

We are very pleased with this school. A group of the best, most energetic, and hardworking teachers I have seen anywhere. Individual self directed learning tailored to each learners specific needs. Highly recommended.
