This maybe the worst school in Waldorf/ Charles County my son told me how the school has rats. And the safety is not where it should be. and it's kids vaping and smoking in the school and the schools safety is very bad.

I'm still trying to figure out why some students are "required" to walk to school by wooded areas, in the dark and alone (A.M. & P.M.). There should be buses for all students. I guess everyone is waiting for the kid's faces to be on a milk carton before someone does an investigation on the boundaries.

At one point this school was the worst in Charles County but I'm here to tell you that's no longer the case. With amazing teachers and administrators who care, this is the BEST middle school in Charles County!

A lot of things are changing for the better in this school. The school has a new principal, Mr. Schroeck, who is all about the kids. We as parents need to work together with the school to make this a better school. Every concern I have when I write to my child's teachers, principal or Mr. King (6th grade administrative assistant), I get a prompt reply. My concerns are always resolved in less than 12 hours and sometimes in less than an hour. Teachers are not perfect but there have been a lot of improvement and it is really heading towards the right direction.

I am a third year student at Stoddert and I will honestly say, I hate it. I haven't been here the whole 8th grade year either. The teachers are amazing. They honestly want to help students but the students, could care less. Most of the students respect nothing and no one in the school. Our administration is terrible. No one ever gets in trouble really because they let it slide way too much. The hallways are utter chaos, you can't get to your next class without getting elbowed or shoved. I had to find other routes to my classes. And bullying is an extreme problem here. You can get hit, and they will pretend not to notice it. You can get teased and no one will care to hear you out. Trust me, it happens to me. Stoddert could be a good school, but the administration needs to step up and do their job! I wish I could give this school no stars but I will have to settle for giving it one.

This school is the worst in Charles County. It's really a shame because the elementary school in our zone was amazing. The lack of communication from the principal to their crazy rules of kids not being able to wear white t-shirts. The only thing that helped my child make through the last 3 years is him being in advanced classes and prayer. He has been bullied on multiple occasions and the administration doesn't seem to care one bit. I am so happy that this is my sons last year. AVOID THIS SCHOOL AT ALL COST!

Not even sure where to begin. This school has many issues that are no where close to being resolved. The teachers are really trying to make a difference but are given a terrible lack of support by administration. Teachers volunteer time after school and during their planning and lunches to support student learning and relationships. Students have little to no respect for adults. There are little to no consequences given to correct inappropriate behaviors! Consequences are inconsistent and not handled in a timely manner. Most responsibilities seem to be pushed onto others or issues remain unaddressed due to lack of effort for the school leaders. Most students are working well below grade level due to the behavior issues taking place and environment concerns. The list could go on but Stoddert is not a place where acceptable learning and safety is guaranteed to all students. Bullying is a major concern. I would NEVER let my child attend this school!!! The public and parents need to get involved!

Where do i start, this is one of the WORST schools in the county. I have a 6th grader that has suffered from anxiety and depression from being at this school. He has been bullied by peers, teachers and the principal has never contacted me to address any issues. Parents moving to the area BEWARE the students are disrespectful and do not care about there education and the school lacks to do anything to change it.

The school is horrible there are so many fights and the majority of the students don't care for much of anything, like last week I saw a student running around the hallway yelling " I got all f's!" In excitement. Then a couple of days later two 6th graders were caught having sex in the learning hall. I don't know how much more I can take with this school I'm just glad this is my last year.

I have two 12 year olds at this school. The administration is lack luster at best. i have had to get the board of education involved more then once. The teachers are programmed for teaching how to do well on the standardized tests. The majority of the kids are disrespectful to peers, staff and visitors. I hear about kids fighting and being disruptive daily. This is not a good school.

My son began the 6th grade at Stoddert in the fall of 2012. We're now 2 quarters into the year and I am completely unhappy with some of the teachers. He only gets homework in Math class. He had more homework in elementary school. I don't remember not getting homework for so many classes when I attended middle school 20+ years ago. His Social Sudies teacher told me, "I don't give homework because I don't think the kids would actually do it and turn it in." Really? That is such a low expectation of our kids. All of the teacher don't have this type of attitude. There are some good teachers there. We will not be attending this school for 7th grade. If you're deciding on a neighborhood to move to, make sure you are not in this school's zone/boundaries.
