We moved to this school district last year and my son loves his school and the teachers, their patient and enthusiastic teaching model makes my son happy to come home from school every day! And he has made great progress in his studies I have been to the school several times, the school staff gave me a good impression, the school has strict management, unrelated personnel can not enter the school at will, which makes our children in the school is very reassuring and safe!

I have a neurodivergent kiddo and this school is great. I cannot say enough great things about the teachers and experiences he has had!

Our kids all love Salem Elementary! My 4 children are excelling in Virginia Beach public schools and 3 who have attended Salem Elementary have all tested into the gifted program! My daughter who started kindergarten not being able to read, ended kindergarten reading at a 4th grade level. The office staff, especially Ms. Hernandes, is truly remarkable and makes the after school pick up run so smoothly. The teachers, assistants, and school staff truly care about our kids and I always feel appreciated and heard when I interact and communicate with the school. Lunch is a bit chaotic, as most schools are, but the cafeteria workers know how to keep it under control. They are also so much fun and the kids enjoy making jokes with them. Mr Evans sings Happy Birthday to each birthday child and has created such a great atmosphere during their lunch break. The sports/field day is always a great hit with fun themes and lots of parent volunteers. The PTA also did a great job this year providing such fun events for the kids and parents such as school dances and donuts with parent mornings. Truly a remarkable school experience for my children!

Salem Elementary has multiple playgrounds, great outdoor space, and top notch teachers. My daughter has really excelled here since we moved into this school district.

This school has gone downhill after mr badali left. he got engaged with the students. always took interest in our projects. and encourage to accomplish our dreams!

Salem Elementary is a hidden gem in VA Beach. The building is kept impressively clean by the dedicated custodial staff. It is obvious that the teachers and staff of Salem sincerely care about our children, and look out for their academic and personal well-being. I love the warm, family feel of Salem Elementary. I am so glad my 2 children have the opportunity to go to this great school.

Very happy with my children's first year in public school at Salem Elem. it was a family type atmosphere and far from overwhelming for them. The communication from the PTA leaves much to be desired but I wouldn't hold that against the teachers or faculty. Overall, a great school.
