Great school, love how the teachers are there to support the children meeting their needs.

Silverado High School, like all local comprehensive schools, has its challenges BUT it is an excellent community. They have 2 fulltime Mental Health Clinicians, the students have a multiple oppportunities to participate in mental health weeks, seminars, college tours, college application drives, etc. If your student wants to be involved there are over 16 sports and 40 clubs ~ building community is all about making good friends and good choices, that starts at home and is not something to blame the school for!

I lived in Georgia before moving here and the High School in Georgia was better in education, discipline, and definitely the student in Georgia know how to respect the teachers. If I had a choice I would not be in this school.

Ok so this school is absolutely horrid!!! I was a former student there and let me tell.you, i got bullied everyday because i was pregnant. Mind you, i know that im an easy target for hurtful words, but hurtful hands?? Come on!! 3 girls jumped me in the bathroom at 6 months pregnant and made me loose my baby... now the school staff did nothing to punish these students!! I mean i only lost one twin but that was one too many!!! Do not, i repeat, DO NOT send you child or children to.this school!! Its just a nightmare waiting to happen!! Oh yeah and its so not true when teachers say thwy are gonna give you "extra credit" dont trust them ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!

This Is One Of The Best Schools I Have Attended. The Teachers Are Very Helpful , Certain Students Are Helpful Also , Other Students Are Iffy , Even Though They Say They Dont Know It , When Its Time To Take The Test , They Do Great. The Campus Is Clean, Outside School Is Clean, Security Is Always There To Help And They Are Good People Too.

Worst school ever!!!! Don't do it! Drugs, out of control children, and teachers as well as the security don't care! My sons phone was stolen and they take no responsibility. I sat in a class and the teacher turned her back to the students for more than 80% of the class, not good for high school kids. Kids do not mind the dress code. I witnessed a girl wearing lace leggings and nothing but a thong on under. I told the security and nothing was done about it. Reported that the girl does it all the time and they keep letting her come back dressed in this manner. Really!!! They are short staffed... it's not a good learning environment... the campus is filthy!

this school is amazing! the teachers are great! the sports program is amazing!! i dont care what other parents say that they there is too much drugs, fight, etc. student are going to have to face the real world and parents should stop trying to protect and hide the reality from their teens. its a part of grwoing up. if student are really focused on their education this school is excellent

If this school is so hard for your kids then quit. Try looking up online alternatives or even better different schools! Stop living like this if your kids don't like it. I quit a school that was almost like this one. I switched to an online alternative because it looked fun and easier. Try it I'm sure you will be surprised. There are different curriculums so try looking them up and see which one you like. I am currently an 8th grader and my parents didn't like my school either. They searched for an alternative and found three different ones. CalPac, K12, and Oak Knoll Virtual Academy. They also found Serrano's alternative too. Try it! I can assure you that you will be glad you did.

Silverado High School is home to some of the worst teachers in California. I wouldn't reccomend the school to anyone. They don't know how to teach their subjects and just waste the students time with busy work. In general the teaching styles are counterproductive to actually learning and just make every student do work without a point. If your students want help, don't go to the teachers, they'll just say "You should have paid attention", "It's not my problem" or "Just drop the class if you're having so much trouble." You're learning everything on your own here and only go to school to pick up work. The Ap curriculum is dreadful. Teacher's constantly assign work they haven't even looked at, and grade every assignmment in the worst way possible. It's quantity of quality of work at Silverado. The test scores at this school aren't because of the students, it's because of teachers that just don't care. Before you write this off as an angry, misguided students, I'm one of the top 20 in my senior class with no help from the teachers. Honestly, It's only when I realized I couldn't count on help from any teacher(with the exception of about 2) that I started actually learning.

My son started this school in 9th grade and he has been struggling since. I think that the communication between school staff and parents is not there. The counselor always send me elsewhere to deal with issues and has NEVER approached me about my son's academic standing. I thought that their job was to ensure the studen'ts success every step of the way? The ParentWeb is no use to me regarding grades because it is never correct, but I always get directed there. Teachers/counselors need to communicate more with parents face-to-face.

Silverado has okay teachers and if you are a determined student then they are willing to help. the front office people are pretty nice. but when it comes to the students its just too many and not enough security to watch over the students and there are varies fights at the school so the school can always use some improvement.

in my opinion Silverado is a really good school. sure it has its problems like drugs, fights, and inappropriate behavior but name one public school that doesnt. all the teachers are great, they care about your education and try to help you as much as they can. there are some students that dont care about their grades and they like to cause problems but not everyone is like that. dont blame the school for some bad students behavior. if you go to silverado and you really care about your education you can talk to your teachers and counselors and they will be willing to help you and you will do great! there are also many after school activities that can help you graduate and help you and the community

I have one child that started at Silverado this year and one that is starting a 3rd year at Victor. from what I have seen so far , hands down Silverado is a much better ran and informed school. Everything from book disbursment to counselor, to AC Activities. Both schools have there violence issues and a very large Drug problem, but i dont know of a high school that doesnt. You need to get invovled in elementary school to keep your kids going in the right direction - middle school is the worst. if you believe that there is a high school without a drug problem, then you need to open your eyes a little more. i am happy to hear they are adding college classes and FINALLY getting a stadium!!!

I have witnessed student/teacher interaction at Silverado for three years now. I feel that this is one of the finest schools I have ever experienced.
