The dress code is overly strict, they change things every single year and they only got over dyed hair last year, they also at one point made it so that if any logo besides the school logo is on your clothing and is bigger than your fist you get in school detention. And the administration is garbage (at least in my experience) they tend to show more love to women then men and tend to not correctly punish people. They also favor popular or athletic students over kids who are more quiet and kept to themselves, the curriculums are so old that if I showed them to my mom who left years ago she would tell me that it's the same stuff she's been teaching. Also the funding baffles me, you have enough funding for better office supplies yet can't even refurbish the bathrooms, fix the several broken locks on the bathroom doors, give supplies to teachers and make them pay for everything, but you can buy TVs for the lunch room that are NEVER used? Also we are forced to pay for our school lunches even though last year we didn't and no one had a problem with it? Also we do NOT have enough teachers for all the students ending with classrooms having 26 or more students in them for ONE teacher. The administration has actively discriminated with my friends and other students only because their beliefs are different and they choose to express that, we also are NOT allowed to have any sort of pride besides "school pride" because everything besides that is disrupting class. There is a huge bully problem at this school and targeting problem, but when it's brought up to administration nothing happens. 0/10 would have never gone here if I wasn't forced to.

Vancleave High School has it's good's and bad's, but the bad's out-weigh the good. The teachers at VHS are mixed. There are the bunch that care, and the bunch that seem like they'd be better off somewhere else. Not naming them, but there's teachers that really just don't seem to care... Shame. The dress code is ridiculous. Sure, it comes from the school district, but it's enforced like crazy. A student can get ISD simply cause they weren't tucked in, or had the wrong color shirt/jacket/undershirt. Yeah, losing "quality" education cause of that is awesome, right? Especially when the logo on one's jacket gets them written up too. Having attended Vancleave, it was fun with the student body, but atrocious with the teaching. And just hearing now that students are forced to write essays where they cannot use certain words is absolutely crazy. If that is VHS trying to prepare their students for either college-world or working-world, it's not doing a good job by forcing this "curriculum" on students whom are accustomed to southern-twang. This is Mississippi, not California. Vancleave High School isn't a school I could recommend, especially to future students.
