My grand daughter attends Peary and I've attended several events at the school in support of my grand daughter. At every occasion that I was in the school, I witnessed children being screamed at by teachers. I think my jaw dropped on one occasion. "Who do you think you are and who told you that you could walk into the cafeteria, get your butt back in here". Were the exact words that came from a teacher's mouth. She was not speaking to my grand daughter or I would have addressed it. My father was an educator for 28 years, an elementary principal. What I have personally witnessed when I've visited the school, is literally mind blowing. My daughter is taking my grand daughter out of this school and I fully support her decision. Every parent has the right to visit their child's school, to volunteer their time to help or sit in the classroom setting to observe. I would highly recommend you do this. I understand that teachers are underpaid and that schools are understaffed but when you speak to a child, specifically a small child, screaming at them is abusive. This is just my personal experience at this school.

Peary is a wonderful, safe environment for education. All of the teachers and faculty work very hard. I feel fortunate to have my son going there.

My son was transferred from another TPS school to Peary. It was the best decision we ever made. Mrs. Pillow is an outstanding teacher. She brings out the full potential in her students.
