It was my child's first year on campus and due to COVID there was not much on campus access, so it is hard to rate the school in its entirety. However, I did have easy access to the teachers. TK teacher was great! She was friendly and communicative. The Kindergarten teacher did not communicate as much and was not to approachable but was available and responded via the square app. There was not much opportunity for school involvement, again because of COVID, so hopefully as things improve that will no longer be an issue.

Big fat 2, if that. Too snobby. No good communication with the parents. Front desk staff has zero customer service skills so it feels like you’re more of a hassle than welcomed. Sour faces all the time. Somber feeling as soon as you walk in. They really need to work on that. Never met the principal; since my child was a new student. I had to introduce myself. He also has no people skills. I see no parent involvement opportunities. They need to make more changes and for the better.

High bullying in this school racist and discrininatory diversity is not welcomed Options for students are limited Poor resources for academic plan unsafe campus that lead to a solitary park kids roam around without supervision

Tulare City School District has given me less faith and pride in my community than I would ever have imagined possible prior to having school-aged children. While asking teachers throughout the district what they can be sure of concerning Tulare City Schools, each one has stated that it is a game of politics. I have come to believe them. The district administrators seem to be driven by money and power. Teachers are overworked and resources scarce as a result. Higher salaries for teachers supplement sufficient working conditions, leaving my children to pay the ultimate price. How is this leveling the playing field? My children are losing out on an education which builds 'confidence' and 'creativity' because teachers feel they need to cut corners in order to get through the day. Education serves as the foundation and building blocks of the community. I'm not so sure what our community is building anymore.

I am a 6th grader at Mission Valley and I love it here. The teachers are supportive. The principal makes fun activities for student of the month assemblies while the vice principal makes short films on the pillars of character with students. We also get enough P.E time, we play various sports such as soccer, kick ball, dodge ball, and on Friday's free play.

My kids have been at this school since it's 1st year. The staff is amazing! The school as a whole encourages our children to be the best they can be in everything that they do. It's a wonderful atmosphere for both students & parents!

I am a parent of a 2nd Grade student at Mission Valley. I love the enthusiasm of the teachers there and any good parent to get the most out of what this school has to offer.
