Troy High is an amazing school. They have many electives and you can graduate with over 30 college credits. They have a variety of sports and after school activities.

I have been a student at Troy High School for the passed three years and it has been quite an experience. My teachers are always willing to help me in any way they can and made me the successful student I am now. One of the main reasons I like the school is because of it's diversity. They're are students of all kinds in attendance. I have one more year left before I graduate and I believe I will look back on high school as a wonderful 4 years of my life.

I am an RPI student that has had experience, although limited, with Troy High as a volunteer tutor and from organizing some educational/college prep programs for students. From my limited time there it seemed apparent that the administrative staff do not believe in their students' potential. They identify, praise, and push the high performers but disparage the rest. When a classmate and I went to announce a College Application Essay Writing program to the seniors a few years ago, the students' counselor opened up with "These ladies are here to discuss a college app essay program for you all. For the few of you that are lucky enough to apply to college, you might want to listen. Don't forget, HVCC (the community college), will be here next week and offer automatic acceptance. But still, please, listen attentively." And then went to praise one of his "star" students, much to the chagrin and embarrassment of that student. I think that the parents that have the time need to get more involved and demand more from the institution. I also believe the school needs to open more pathways that take advantage of the hundreds of RPI students qualified and eager to offer academic support.

I just graduated and I would like to say Troy High School cares about us students! The teachers and staff make you feel more connected like you're basically home. One advice I could give is always try your best and never leave work until the end! Best of luck
