My experience with this school has not been positive.

I truly hate to revise my review of this school but since Mr. Turner left things have definitely gone downhill. They seem to be trying to adhere tot he normal schedule of family events and that great but even with an assistant principle the new principle seem to be completely overwhelmed. She won’t make time to speak with parents or mitigate issues. My son teacher this year has been astoundingly rude, dismissive and honestly hateful towards us. We can’t seem to get a meeting scheduled or even pin someone down to speak with. They complain daily about our child but refuse to work with us on a behavior plan. The teacher has stated she does not have the time to do time out or any other form of redirection in class whatsoever and simply insists our child disturbs “her students” in “her class” like he isn’t a part of it. I don’t see this school getting better at this rate. I don’t know how much farther the school can fall with bottom tests scores already. It’s a D school that is very sure to be an F by the end of this year.

Douglas elementary has been a great school for both of my children, whenever a situation arose they handled it wonderfully. (Especially when my daughter was being bullied over her weight!)
