I have 5 children that are attending Brandywine Heights Area School District (more specifically, Brandywine Heights Elementary, Intermediate and Middle School). My children just finished Kindergarten, 2nd grade, 4th grade, 5th grade and 7th grade. My oldest started attending Brandywine Heights Elementary School in 2013. I have nothing but good things to say about this school district. The teachers are dedicated, patient, and caring, there are a host of resources and activities available to keep the students engaged, facilities are nice and secure, even the food service is excellent. My children love going to school. During the pandemic, the district tried to accommodate students and parents the best they could, offering options, like the option of attending their Virtual Academy. This is a great school district and I am glad my children are part of it.

As a parent just coming into the district. There is no diversity. Teachers are very welcoming. Parents not so much. They will not except grades from previous schools,if it doesn't match the grading system. So its automatic fail. Field trips are planned around students who have been here. If new keep your kid home on field days. Your child will be left out because they are new. Drugs are an issue. My child was offered a molly on her very 1st day starting in the high school. The friends she has made informed me of the drug problems in the high school. Parents and teachers do not care they cover it up. Also her friends went through the same thing with bullying. There first year was nothing but bullying. School will not follow bully policy. They ignore it and cover it up. When you see the parents. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. My opinion Topton is a sugar coated version of Reading. Same kids same parents just different town. Its a joke. Being new this is what my family has experienced. Sorry the town, schools,and people are fools. Guess my family fits the fool category as well for thinking this was going to be different.
