Bad bad bad! Leave this area immediately if you care about your kids education. Something changed the year before last A lot of faculty left the principal left they hired brand new people. In 5th grade this year my son had four different teachers because they were leaving to get better jobs. Bullying is a major problem in the school. Current faculty are either ignorant or unwilling to tone down the bullying. Multiple kids have transferred from MXR to homeschool or private school. I strongly recommend you do research. This is not the place to educate children.

I would do zero stars if I could. It took my kid getting suspended off the bus for them to give my kid a 504 after being diagnosed with MDD and asking over a year ago and being dismissed. My kid came home with lice 6 times in a 2 month period and they wouldn't tell the parents this was an issue. I had to spend $100s of dollars because they wouldn't do anything about it. They are so dismissive with issues. I wouldn't advocate for the school but unfortunately I'm not rich so I'm stuck here. I've had issues for the past 3 years with this school.

We’re in the time of Covid. It is terrible and there is so much stress out on our educators. That being said, we moved to this area from another state because of work and the rating of this school. I have never been more underwhelmed in my life. It’s like they just want to get through the day. We came from a school that had the house system and helped our young people work in our community and do character building things. They also implemented a system that focused on the 7 characteristics of highly effective people. My kids loved going to that school. Since we have moved, they have lost their fire and dread school. As a parent, this is so sad. I try to help as much as I can, but I’m at a loss. Idk how to help my kids or the teachers, but if this is what we moved for, it was a terrible decision on my part. Hopefully, it will get better and I can find a way to help.

I have had my own children at this school for many years and have always been impressed by the teachers. I love the new administration, their dedication to the students and to academics. My daughter enjoys the friendly competition of the house system and the benefits it brings of teaching students leadership and life skills. Keep it up MXR!

they do amazing at this school.my daughter is 9 years old and she is in 4th grade. every time I ask her a question she uses her manners. and when she does her homework she gets a 90 or above. I wish this school could go to pre-k through 12th grade

We moved from the Huntsville City School District to Madison County Schools. Our child attended a HCS from Kindergarten and all I can say is that we couldn't have made a better decision about moving! The level of care, education resources, teacher professionalism, and overall structure of MXR has more than proved itself as well organized, more than competent staff of educators. Lets not forget the bus drivers, they are awesome! Safety and security of the children on the bus is number one to them and that is extremely appreciated! Principal Dennis is always available and extremely helpful! I recommend this school to everyone that is looking for an well oiled, supportive, caring, and highly talented group of educators for their children!

My kids have gone here PK-5, and I have taught school here as well. Teachers and admin are well informed, most have at least a masters degree, and they strive to make this a 21st century school. Technology is at the forefront as a tool for teaching, however children are always first. There is plenty of support available for students in need, including the medical clinic ( and soon dental clinic) attached to the school. A great place to send your children and to work,

My grandson attends school at Madison Cross roads Elementary and is progressing extremely fast! I could not be more pleased that he is getting a good education.

This school is one of the worse schools I have seen. The teaachers are all unhappy, always yelling at the kids. They act as if they hate there job. Why would you become an elementary teacher and be so bitter toward kids. If you have issues with the school you would be better off to talk to the school board then get the principals attention. This school is really not a good school at all. Its old, and doens't function well. Most of the staff is very unpleasant to deal with, rude, and make you feel very unwelcome when you come to the school. The food in the cafateria is nasty gross. I wouldn't feed it to my animals yet alone my kids. The only happy people you see in the school are the lunch people. Always very sweet to the kids, and very upbeat. This school should not be ranked at a 7, it should be more on the ends of a 1 or less. If you can avoid this school do it at all cost. You will be greatly dissappointed with the teachers and staff.
