I have 2 daughters that currently attend Eagle Academy and have been since 2004. I have come to be very disappointed recently in their education, structure, leadership, & other activities (or lack thereof). I'm starting to believe that this school offers no more than a place for my children to go during the day. I never see, nor hear from or about the school leader being involved in too much of anything. I just see him standing about during open enrollment. There seems to be no general concern for the children's well being, education future or success. This school has no structure! No outlets! & no organization! And I believe they pass off their poor to mediocre test scores as success. I plan on pulling both of my daughters out of Eagle Academy as soon as possible.

The middle school porton of Eagle secondary is great. Those teachers work really hard and know what they're doing. My son loves all his teachers. They are short-staffed from what i understand, doesn't sound like a good school if you have a child with special needs. The school leader Mr. Bean has no clue how to run a school though. My son said he doesn't ever see him in the MS unless someone is in trouble. I dont think he takes any responsibility, whenever I talk to him he's got some dumb excuse about it. Some of those kids are absolutely out of control and the teachers only have so much power. But my child is learning and the only other option is TPS, and that isnt even a option! I'm greatfull for the teachers, though. They are strong ladies in that middle school.

I was very dissapointed in the school this year, my 2nd grader very rarely brought home any graded papers, I talked to the teacher about this and she said thata they would be bringing home a big stack of papers soon, none ever came, I talked to the principal about this also, she said she would talk to the teacher, and it still did not work, they never brought any science or Social Studies home, never any reading material, only kind of home work was math, all year long, nothing but math, my student had a hard time with reading and was told he/she was getting help and the grade was always bad, even though they were in the Mentor More project. So now I am pulling the student out and will be sending he/she to Birmingham school. This student has an IEP, and was told that he/she was allowed to ask for help in the class room, but when the student asked for help they did not get it, so I am hoping that this student will not be so far behind when put in the new school that he/she will fail the 3rd grade. I will not reccomend this school any more to friends or famil. I got the feel that the principal or this teacher did not really care for the student.
