In our experience with Calvert schools, the school does not support family involvement unless your involvement is agreement with the school. Education and learning is not valued. Teachers lack skills and abilities to adequately teach. They are not qualified educators and the school will do everything to support the teacher, not the learning of the student. The school advertisement of being different by design wants to promote CCP classes yet does not have a qualified guidance counselor who understands graduate requirements, testing and courses that will transfer to college. The school applies harsh discipline and does not support the wellness of children. Other reviews are adequate when stating the school will threaten to remove your child from Calvert if you do not support the lack of education, the discriminatory discipline practices etc. As a parent, when you need support for your child, you are discouraged from being involved. There are many happy students but many who are not. The learning and teaching is below average with no evidence of getting better. Special education needs support. The 1:40 ratio is too much for anyone to be successful. The school claims to tutor but lacks follow through in all areas. The staff applies one catholic standard but does not lead by example.

The worst! I went from being bullied every day, depressed everyday, and groped by staff and students to a school where I could do my job--learn.

I have two graduates from Calvert and a third student going into his senior year at Calvert. This school is an investment into your kids future, it does prepare them for college. The best way for your student to be successful is for the parents to be involved. My oldest is finishing up his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. My daughter has finished her Bachelors degree and is starting at Xavier for an accelerated Nursing program. My high school senior has been honor roll his entire time at Calvert, is on Honor Society & a varsity football player. He plans on becoming an orthopedic surgeon. If you measure a high school by the success of it's students then Calvert has been an excellent experience for this family. I am sorry to see the low reviews posted by others. My kids were attending at the same time some of the reviews were written. I did not attend Calvert, I am not wealthy, racist or rude. Folks, like so many other things in life, you get out of it what you put into it.

So this is a Catholic School? I'm a good Catholic Christian and this is the last place that I'd call a Catholic School. Unless you are their exact status quo there is no dignity for you! They are racist, rude, and don't care. There is more than one medium to learn your Catholic faith and example is the most important way for one to know their faith. They are not doing that.

Calvert so called Catholic Schools. They will treat you well if you are the following: from there, wealthy, good at sports, and absolutely typical. The education system is not that good with different learning needs. The separation and mistreatment of the separated is atrocious! This is Calvert "Catholic" Schools.

Very poor education system, after switching my kids from Calvert to Columbian I have seen a noticeable difference in my children's education. They are received a much more open-minded education and their grades have improved tremendously.

After attending Columbian HS and now sending my children through Calvert Catholic School, all I can say is I m jealous I wasn t a part of this family back then. Yes, this is a family! The families and staff of Calvert Catholic School is by far the best! Seeing that our own country wants to take GOD away from everything, even on our money In GOD we trust I know my children will lean and respect others. Sure there are some problems, but tell me one school that doesn t. It s all about choice!! Thank you CCS!!
