Great Honors teachers. Excellent tech program. Good staff. However, very poor principals and discipline. The administration allows horrible things to happen with no regard for the safety of their students, but only for their image, if anything is done at all. The disciplinarian at this school is very rude, disrespectful, and intimidating for no good reason whatsoever, he is very unfriendly to the students, regardless of social standing. This school is also very poor, and continues to take away AP and college level courses they once provided to academics such as myself. Because of this shutdown on AP classes, my pre-medical education has become greatly stunted. On the other hand, I’d like to note that, the teachers that I have had over me, are extremely supportive, hardworking, and passionate individuals that I would trust with anyone’s children. They deserve much respect.

Class of 2022, here. If I had to sum up my overall experience within the Sheridan school district, it would be equivalent to flying a kite during a thunderstorm. It’s certainly flying, but at what cost? There is very little focus on any extracurriculars besides sports, so unless your child is Tom Brady or you have $10,000 to blow on show choir then best of luck to you. The lack of diversity leads to very lackluster class conversations due to the small town mindset and everybody being within spitting distance of one another. I have had both racial and homophobic slurs hurled at me by my peers, and in all of my 6 years attending only one teacher cared enough to do anything. The courses they offer are very rudimentary and limited due to lack of funds. We had a grand total of 2 foreign language options and no courses offered for basic life skills, though I suppose “history of sports” is more important than learning how to write a check. There are no mental health programs available through the school and what is offered is disappointing. I was once told to “clean my room” in response to reaching out about severe problems with my mental health. The only redeeming quality is the teachers. A majority of them are very compassionate and encouraged me to seek education beyond Sheridan. If you value the mental aspect of who your child will become and how ready they will be for the real world, Northern Local is not the school for you.

Most of the negative reviews written about Sheridan were clearly written by trouble-making students. Notice that none of the negative comments pertained to the EXCELLENT academics at Sheridan (and were actually poorly written). I would invite you to see the school and how well it is run. The facility is always very clean and the teachers are well educated. I wouldn't want my children going to any other school.

sheridan is a terrible school. ive watched both the principle and vice Principe get in studens faces and scream at them. ive watched some teachers yank on some students the vice principle will follow students into the restrooms and watch the studens to make shure your not doing anything. ive hated this school since i started. the bst school ive been to was bexley and if i had the chance to go back i would. the teachers never help you when you neeed help unless your on sports. this school cares more about sports than they do about the students just trying to graduate. they have this thing called alc. its pretty much in school suspension. i watched a football player cuss out a teacher and he got 3 days of alc and got to do his work. the second i tell a teacher there pising me off (it was a bad day and gutridge yanked my phone and headphones out of myears and hands) i get suspended for 3 days outside of school. i beleve any school is better than sheridan. even alfa forgot to mention even tho the lunch ladies are nice ive gotten moldy food and expired milk two days ago...
