The school administration need to go to school of manners. They are rude and unreasonable. They cover each other and treat parents like puppets. Horrible experience in this school. The teachers are mediocre to say the least. Children get yelled at with bull horns right in their ears! The school is filthy and supplies are no where to be seen. Sad excuse for a neighborhood school. Brings down my community.

security guard very rude and mean towards parents and students. over all the school is great. the teachers are nice and the school is very clean. i just wish that they teach the security guard some manners.the school deserve 5 stars but the security guard needs to go. Get better and nicer security guard and then maybe nest time you will get a 5 from me.

My son is in Kindergarden. The teacher is awesome the school is clean. but the security guard is very very nasty, i think this is not the job for her. not only is she nasty to parents but to the children that attend the school.. i would have gave the school a excellent rating but that security guard makes the school look awful just by her attitude..

This is the worst school ever in the history of schools. My 8 year old daughter is is in the 2nd grade. Very nice teacher but the rest of the staff are horrible to the children. Especially the security guards. They are very mean to the parents always with an attitude. The lunch lady are always mean to the kids as well and lets not even talk about the food, just plain disgusting. Needless to say they lost a child at that school that escaped from the back door this fall. Mom found the child walking a couple of blocks from his home. I am not sending my child to this school next year.

I went to this school and now in my 2nd year of college I still go back to visit and am welcomed with open arms. There's staff that has experienced it all and have been there since I was 10. The staff even the custodians care so much about the students. They praise the students for all their hard work and treat them with respect. The teachers not only teach but they show the students how to love school. Their main priority is the children and they have a wonderful arts program that is rare here in the Bronx. They focus on making sure students are prepared for the future and even start talking about college in classrooms. An amazing school, I'll always support and appreciate.

i use to be a student in p.s.196 and i when i graduated the fifth grade i dident want to leave because of the fun and encouragement i got and experienced in this amazing school. i highly recommend this school for kids with low self confidence and for kids with low academic growth in math and english language arts the teachers here will help your child succeed both mentally and physically and they will help your child in any struggle at home and in school. im in seventh grade now
