BASE despite its mission to prepare minority students for STEM careers, falls short of that goal. The academic quality is subpar, with inexperienced teachers and low standards. The school environment is challenging, with a prison-like atmosphere and mental health issues among teachers, staff, and students. While there are some positives, such as the iMentor program and school trips, these are overshadowed by administrative failures, including inadequate college application support and past false advertising of CTA certifications. The school's unscreened admission policy, while inclusive, often results in bright students being held back. Overall, BASE fails to adequately prepare students for college or the tech industry, making it a poor choice for ambitious students seeking academic challenge and growth.

Favors minorities, women, and liberal indoctrination to the highest level. Also does not teach well.
