My experience at TCS has been amazing. I met lifelong friends and it is such an amazing environment to learn in.

Attending the Community School was an incredible experience! The work was challenging, rewarding, and connected to real-world issues. The teachers were supportive, inspiring, and remain good friends. I am so grateful for this school!

The Community School accepted my daughter cashed our transportation check and than told us she could not be bussed to the school from our house anymore, the night before the first day of school! The drive by our house which is commercially zoned and on the shoulder of their main travel route and the drive by every morning and night and refuse to stop to pick up my daughter, even though they agreed to pick her up there when she was accepted. With one family car and working parents it is impossible to transport her ourselves, but we would never have gotten her so excited to go there if they had told us they couldn't pick her up when we first applied and were accepted. The new director was incredibly insensitive and aloof, it is not a community I would ever want my daughter to be a part of.

The community school is an amazing institution which actually DOES make learning fun, the kids all learn what they need, the teachers are phenomenal, and the community is highly involved with education. TCS takes a rural community with many students who would otherwise not be community members and invites them to participate in, shape, and change their communities. The school has an organic garden and CSA, locally sourced lunches, and could not be a better example of how education can foster intelligence, creativity, happiness, and a healthy community.
