as a past student, i do not recommend this school. it’s listed as one of the top schools in tampa but they don’t ever discuss school fights, online safety, etc. on some occasions fights at school happen but nothing is done about it making this a somewhat unsafe campus where students don’t feel safe.

Our daughter had a “normal” middle school, meaning it’s a tough transition and age overall from elementary school, but received a quality education here and it prepared her for success at the high school level and as she has gone off to college. The teachers were great, communication is there if you take advantage of it… and she found a love for and still plays violin from trying orchestra in the elective wheel in 6th grade. The campus is historic, beautiful and constantly kept up by a very active PTSA. She learned independence, accountability, and organization skills from some very dedicated teachers. I am very proud of my Wilson Bulldog Alum. I recommend this school to anyone looking for a public school with private school feel.

I’m a little surprised at these reviews and don’t agree with them at all . My son is in his second year at Wilson as 7th grader and we couldn’t be happier with this school . Middle school can be tough on kids . Between the shedding of all the “childlike” habits they where use to in Elementary school all the way to biological and emotional changes it can be a pretty difficult transition . I mean there a reason more than half of middle schools in the district are failing ; but I can attest that Wilson does a phenomenal job at helping their students work through these changes and excel . Mr. Fantauzzo the principle and his staff are high committed and involved . As a parent you are continually informed with everything happening in the school and with your child . I also have not encountered one unhelpful staff member. Teachers staffed are highly qualified and dedicated as well . The parent - teacher communication line is also AMAZING . The latest I’ve ever gotten a response is next day . I always know what’s happening in my child’s classes & am caught to speed . Yes he does have homework , but I’ve found most of the homework to just be basic review type homework just going over what was learned in class . My child usually is done within 20-45 min depending on how many classes . Only when projects are involved might it take a bit longer ; but even those are given a manageable timeline . Teachers are continually challenging learners academically to ensure success & always are available to help if needed . PTA is very involved which shows lots of activities for families and grounds are continually upkept . I have never witnessed bullying nor has my son mentioned it . If anything I’ve seen staff quickly actOn some situations to mitigate issues . Lots of extra programs despite county cuts like band , coding , strings , Spanish , art , percussions , etc … overall I highly recommend this school for any family that values structure , academically challenging settings , growth , and a sense of community

My son is bullied every single day. He used to love school, now he makes up excuses saying hes sick and even hides in closets to avoid going because the bulling is so bad.

Great, so far. Everything seems to be on track. I have high expectations for this school.

We are so disappointed in how this school is allowing a teacher to be a bully and make derogatory comments to our child. Administration has made it obvious they are not going to help. We will try the school board next but such a shame for this to be allowed in today’s society. All of the other teachers have been wonderful but bullying is never okay especially by an adult.

this was the worst school my child has ever been to. she was bullied everyday and all the teachers knew about it, yet did nothing. Even the principal. This school almost lead my child to suicide. It needs help. DON'T SEND YOUR KID THERE.

This is a great school. The principal is good, the teachers are caring and teach well, and the students are smart and care about education. Three-fourths of us are in Honors! The electives are great as well, and in addition you get one of maybe twenty enrichment clubs. You can get incentives for honor roll, the best being front of the lunch line every single day! The Principal's Honor Roll and High Honor Roll both have extremely long lists! You have a great opportunity to take Algebra in seventh grade, like I am doing this year. There is also a great sports program and a great neighborhood high school. If you can at all, go to Wilson, do it! Bulldogs Rock!

I came to Wilson from an amazing middle school in New York and was utterly dissapointed. The principal is downright mean, the classes are mediocre and easy, carrying a binder around everywhere is unpractible, and there is completely dispicable treatment of students. Even my bus can be up to 2 hours late at least once a week. The only good thing is that I am guarenteed an easy A in all of my classes.
