The Leader in Me program has developed my students into leaders. They have grown so much since “finding their voice” and being in leadership roles throughout the school. My kids love to be in school and complain that the breaks are too long because they want to be with their teachers & classmates! In referencing the previous review:All schools are concerned about their school grade and ensuring students are learning & growing. It’s data! We are a small school, and definitely family-like. There will be cliques and not everyone will be bffs, however we aren’t “cold”!

Appears warm & welcoming to the outside world but the staff is full of cliques & there is no real warmth. The admin is too concerned about a school grade instead of worrying about the social emotional health of the school and the academics which will help the school grade in the long run.

Lanier is a hidden gem! We moved to the Tampa area in 2019 for my job and did some school hunting before we officially moved here. We visited several highly ranked schools in the area and then went to visit Lanier Elementary on the recommendation of an acquaintance. We were pleasantly surprised to see how engaging and motivated the Principal and staff are at Lanier. The Leader in Me program there is amazing! Kids are not only learning to be academically successful, they are also learning to be good citizens and leaders which is SO important! The teachers are all passionate about their students' personal and academic growth, and they go out of their way to help their students! I cannot speak highly enough about Lanier Elementary or their Leader in Me program!

I have been working at this school for 6 years and it is an amazing environment! The culture at our school has become so strong due to the Leader in Me and the ability to give students opportunities to shine through various leadership groups. I am so excited that I get to bring my child here for kindergarten next year!

Lanier an amazing community. When you walk onto the campus, you feel like you've entered a family. The teachers are always smiling to welcome you and the students all seem so happy. The Leader in Me program that they offer has given my daughter skills and strategies to find new interests and to express herself in her own way. Our daughter loves coming to school and loves the experience she gets every day. We are so thankful for this school and every teacher that is on campus.

As a Military family we have had the opportunity to experience several schools all with different approaches. So far, I am very satisfied with the education my children are receiving at Lanier.

I am literally writing this with tears in my eyes. I transferred my 4th grade child to Lanier due to her failing grades and the SEVERE testing anxiety she was experiencing at her prev school. Lanier's administration, the teachers the office and nurses, have been a God send, to say the least. Her attendance, grades, attitude and most importantly, her emotional state of mind have completely turned around! They were patient, understanding and gave her the right amound of nurturing and firmnessto get her back on track. I have my happy, confident daughter back, thanks to the wonderful team at Lanier. THANK YOU!!!!!!

My daughters teachers are doing well to teach her things she needs to know, and have helped her get on level. But the thing I don't like about this school is that there are no buses. When you live 1.3 miles from the school and do not have a car, your walking 5.2 miles each day to and from the school in scorching heat. Another issue is when it is raining/storming, your expected to get your child to school/from school with NO vehicle, and have no one to give you a ride. When I brought this issue up, I was told "maybe you can get another parent to give your kid a ride/take her home" SURE, I'm going to give some random person my child and trust that they aren't a freak. Its just a dangerous situation all the way around.

I attended Lanier growing up as a child. 20+ years later I have enrolled two, soon to be three of our children into Lanier. This school rocked then, and rocks even more now! The review complaining about the middle school next door requiring a resource officer isn't aware that resource officers are at all of the middle schools in Hillsborough. In my eyes Lanier deserves the highest rating possible!
