The teaching & support staff at RTES provide our children is excellent!! The principal, office staff, all staff-regardless of their position, that we've had contact with over these past years, 2019-now have been great. Their friendly demeanor encourages students and their families to seek help when needed. As in any school, there are some AMAZING teachers, as well as mediocre. Thankfully, my daughter, non-spanish speaking household, has had mostly the great teachers there. She is now in 5th grade, has been there since kinder, March of that year is when COVID hit. Being 'part of the zoom class' in her 1st & 2nd grade years allowed us to actively see/hear what & how she was being taught. When they got back into school ESOL teachers pulled and worked w/ her to improve her spanish reading skills. Age appropriate emotional support as well as mental health education is consistently provided.Rolling Terrace ES demonstrates the definition of a 'community school.' They ALWAYS have a full house at any night event we've participated in...reading night, math night, bingo night, & international night to name very few of the many events planned annually. Their dedicated staff plans , preps and stays until after 8pm to connect with their students & their families having fun learning/playing together. The fact that each event is attended by so many families is a testament to the caring, nurturing environment our kids are attending daily.--if you don't love and appreciate a place AND know you & your kids will have fun its real tough to get hundreds of people to attend 2 hour evening events after working all day. The staff have to be exhausted teaching all day then staying for an evening event is a 12 hour day. Every staff member attending is seemingly happily engaged in the activities and shows up with a smile in the morning to teach again. I would LOVE to post names of the excellent staff members I have had direct contact with over the years. I won't though, as not to snub or disparage any teacher/staff member we didn't have the opportunity to interact with--huge school. THANK YOU ROLLING TERRACE for the nurturing teaching & supporting you provide our students (and families) daily!

My twin daughters are just finishing fifth grade and really enjoyed it. We migrated to States last year and were welcomed at school. The teachers made it comfortable for my girls and help them settle down. They learned Spanish at school in a short duration of time both read and write which was awesome. The staff is incredible, teachers and principle is awesome.

My daughter has gone here since 1st grade (now 3) and loves it very much. She has had some behavioral problems in 1st grade and I feel this school has served her better than Takoma Park elementary school, where she went to Kindergarten. The teachers and staff are very caring and respectful, the Horizons after care is excellent. The Spanish program has been challenging, but overall it has been a great experience at RT!

Both my sons go here. There are some remarkable teachers and some duds. The administration has been very helpful with any issues we have had. I have overall been pleased with out time st RTES.

I am very happy with the school my daughter to head star and Ms. Datta Ms. Woodson and do a great job, learning, caring and very loving. the main office and judy center friendly... Good Job!!!!

I currently have two boys attending Rolling Terrace. I am very happy with their teachers as they are very involved and it is evident that they genuinely care about their students. My eldest is now in the 4th grade and transferred to Rolling Terrace in the 2nd grade so I have had the pleasure of interacting with different great teachers. Rolling terrace is a good school and offers a diverse environment and a great Spanish immersion program. My only dislike is the office staff and administrative staff. They aren't pleasant at all, they never smile and you never feel welcomed in the office.

My son attends Rolling Terrace Elementary and he enjoys it. His teacher is very kind and sweet. This is his first school experience and he has improved in so many ways. His teacher showed us his progress from the first day of school to his 2nd week and my oh my how much of a progress!. Kudos to Ms. Carter. Also the tiger paws are a great idea, kids love it and it motivates them to do better. Just wish the administrative staff and office staff would be more friendly and smile more. Not so pleasant.

The teachers are excellent. Parents are involved and interested in more than test scores (despite the fact that RT students do very well on the standardized test) This school has so much to offer students in terms of learning in two languages and learning to live in a diverse environment. Highly recommended for the Spanish immersion program.

Rolling Terrace, I guess, from what it sounds and looks is pretty good for the spanish immersion side. The teacher:student ratio is lower and most of those classes have teacher aides in them. For students on the "otherside" its not so. But what would the you spanish immersion parents care or know for that matter about the rest of the school....

Following up, I wrote the June 12 Review - We wish we had stayed at RT in the Spanish Immersion program. The school is warm, welcoming, and fun. The Tiger Paws incentives are fun for the kids and really incent them to work hard. The school my daughter is in now seems cold and unfriendly next to RT. We moved out of the area and miss our old school.

Great Spanish Immersion Program, great diversity, and a fantastic principal. Really love the school spirit my daughter has shown. She really loves earning "Tiger Paws" for good behavior and has made some wonderful friends.
