We came to Canyon Ridge after moving to Surprise. We looked at both charter and public school options but ultimately chose Canyon Ridge. I was very impressed with the parent reviews, NCES data on student performance, and the curriculum which is a STEM-based model and also offers a variety of fun elective or “special” classes. I also loved the principal who provided us with a personal tour of the school. She is very warm and seems to truly care about the students. My child has been the thriving since joining Canyon Ridge and I appreciate that the Parent Portal gives me insight into how my child is doing on a daily basis.

if you don't have a child with any disorders then im sure everything will be ok for you but once you have child with a disorder they aren't going to help you and will leave your child to pretty much fail you can complain your concerns and they wont change anything they lie when it comes to vacation assignments . instead of giving the child an evaluation to see which plan fits them better they will ask you what plan do you want but they try to avoid giving an evaluation overall and twist it to make it seem its the parents fault then on top of that they think they know if the child has no learning disability until you do things outside of school they will listen don't expect any help from this school all they want is to milk you for money constantly , i use to love this school until they showed their true colors . and don't get me started on the rude psychiatrist

Canyon Ridge is an exceptional school! We have the best staff and an incredibly supportive parent community. Whether you’re stopping in for an hour, or staying for a few, you are ALWAYS greeted with a compassionate smile and genuine staff member ready to go above and beyond to work collaboratively with you to meet the needs of students. The teachers are always willing to go the extra mile to make learning fun and meaningful for all! Last, the administrative team is extraordinary, as they embody the leadership skills necessary to keep the Canyon Family functioning as a cohesive unit!

I drive my son 25 minutes to school every day to get to this school. The staff and teachers are wonderful and go above and beyond to make this a great school. My child has multiple allergies and they even go out of their way to accommodate that. I have had children in 13 schools in 2 states and this is the best by far. And that includes public, parochial, charter and even an online school.

This is my son's first year at this school and so far I'm extremely happy with the admin team and teacher communication. My son really likes the school and looks forward to completing his rest of middle school here.

Best school I’ve ever had my kids at, including 2 others in this district, Deer Valley, and in TX.

Very academic driven school, but still a fun school with a lot of clubs and extracurricular activities offered.

The school is AMAZING! They engage students in STEM based lessons. They challenge, but support students. Our students know how to collaborate, communicate, and create both working in teams and using technology.

We moved our kids to Canyon this year and love the school. The principal and vice principal are very involved. The teachers are wonderful, engaged and excited about the curriculum. Our experience has been that the teachers demand excellence and encourage it the kids' to meet their full potential. Overall, just a very big difference from where we were at before. Very happy.

I have three children attending CRS- Kinder, third, and fifth. It has been an amazing experience through and through. The teachers are the most caring individuals and really take pride in their jobs. They work around the clock to ensure that each child receives the attention he/she needs. They help to instill responsibility and accountability in my kids which is worth so much more than the basic curriculum. The administration plays an active/positive role, and truly care about the families that they are serving. In reading the prior posts, I can see that there have been great improvements over the years and I believe that this is due to the positive moral that the administrators bring to the school. When you walk in those doors, you can tell that the staff is like family to one another. (Probably because they're there so much.... Those parking lots always have staff cars present... Sometimes I wonder if they sleep). Great school!

This is my daughter's 5th year at Canyon and I could not be happier! From the front office staff to the administration-- everyone is amazing!! Not only do I feel completely comfortable with asking anyone ( crossing guards/ teachers/ admin) any questions I have, my daughter feels the same!! They all work so hard to keep standards high and to work extra hours with those who may need a little more help!! It is an amazing school-- so happy we are part of such a wonderful community!

A+ school of excellence.. A STEM school, with an awesome staff.. This school , to me, is as Private- as Public school can be- I grew up in a Catholic school and there are not many around- but I did want my kids to grow up knowing the same group of kids-like I got to do,, and this school is close to that! There are borders and that keeps the same ones coming back! I know my kids are safe here, and it is a great community.. Cant say enuff positive about this school!

I have three kids that attend CRS. I couldn't be happier! The teachers are fabulous, my kids are held accountable and we love the STEM concept. It's obvious that the administration cares deeply about the well being of the school, both staff and students. Dr. Isai and Mr. St. Germain are very noticeable and involved at the school. They are friendly and approachable and it's obvious that the students know they care. If an incident happens that concerns one of my kids, parent contact is made and the situation is resolved appropriately. The parking lot can be crazy before and after school, but there is adequate staff outside working to make things as smooth as possible. The PTA seems to be very involved and does numerous events to benefit the students. There appears to be some drama in the PTA, but it doesn't seem to impact the good they do for the school. CRS seems to be getting better every year, it has come a long way, the change in the administration a few years ago was exactly what the school needed!

Best school for my children ever . Seven grade teachers are a great team. They answer e-mails inmediately. When you talk to them, you can tell they really care about students.

I Attended Canyon ridge since it opened and spent four years there until moving to highschool. The first year, the school was brand new and there was no air condioning in the building, but other than that, it was a good school. But, every year the school got progressively worse, going through three principals during my enrollment there, until the teachers became lax, and lazy. The eight grade teachers from my 8th grade year have since been replaced, every single one has excpet one, and it is looking up again. my sibling currently goes to school there in 8th grade and though curiculum has dropped, it looks to be a decent school once again.
