This is my sons first year here and so far it's not going good. The staff and principal (Amy Pinto) have zero communication skills. I get more incorrectly spelled or incorrect event dates than I get about my son. When my son is acting out ( he's on the spectrum btw ) I'm not being notified untill the principal calls me and tells me he's being suspended. No phone calls, emails, dojo nothing. When I call and speak to the principal she gives me extremely basic chat gbt responses and won't even answer my question because in her words "were collecting data" like my child's a lab experiment.Overall the school is run down old and has no funding. They try to take advantage of families who don't put there foot down and stand up for there child. Educate yourself and be sure to get your hands on the school policies they fail to give you before your child gets suspended. The principal is very controlling over the staff and in order to get basic information from the teacher you have to go thru the principal.

The school has a great environment, staff knows every child in the building and this gives a lot of comfort to parents. The teachers are great, but it is very clear that this school doesn’t receive the same financial resources as others in town, especially after my kids moved to another elementary in Stratford, it was pretty clear. It is pity, because this school has a lot of potential! My kids absolutely loved the 3 years they attended Lordship and they learned a lot.

My son first year in school and we all like it. Communication, activities and engagement with the community are some of many reasons we like the Lordship School.

Was great years ago. Now poor leadership, behavior specialists are lacking, police there constantly (reports are free at police station), can't figure out release time pick-up, teachers hands are tied, so much bullying, parents attack each other, no communication skills... our last couple of years were very disappointing. Teachers and staff were great, but again, hands are tied. If you have the option to drive, go to a better school like Second Hill Lane or Johnson House where the kids are more respectful because they have strong principals in place and know how to manage better behavior programs and things like 504 plans and IEPs in place. I've also worked there and was bullied out by a whiny PTA mom that had no clue what she was even talking about. Give it to God, go somewhere where you don't have to worry about your child all day. Not being mean, just being honest.

I am beyond pleased with my family's experience at Lordship School. It is a small school and you truly feel that you are a member of a family. The staff is excellent and Ms. Murphy, the principal is incredible. I know my child is being challenged but more importantly is HAPPY! Due to the size of the school, my child is not just a number - she is known and feels important in the school community. The PTA is also amazing and do wonderful things for the school. Seeing the GreatSchools rating is "4 out of 10" does NOT reflect the quality of the staff and the quality of education that my child is receiving. Schools' ratings should not be graded on a few grade's testing results - many other factors should be taken into consideration. I feel lucky to be a part of the Lordship School community and I know my child does as well.

Our school is definitely a community school, this is why I won't move from our town of Lordship, here in Stratford, Ct. I know the majority of the teachers on a first name basis. There's an open line of communication between teacher and parent at all times. Our principal Ms. Murphy truly cares about all of our kids and how they succeed. We have a large participation of teachers and parents in the PTA.

I grew up in Stratford and all three of my children attend Lordship School. Kate Murphy is an amazing Principal. She is dedicated, a great listener, and is driven to provide every student with the education and tools that they need to succeed in school and in life. She has implemented a new behavior program which calls for accountability for bad choices and for recognition for good choices. The staff is amazing. They are creative and resourceful and work together as a team each one helping the other to succeed with their students. We have strong a motivated and hard working PTA Board. We also have strong parent involvement which is getting stronger everyday. The students work hard everyday to learn and exemplify the pillars of character. We have implemented a dress code which creates a great learning environment. We have small class sizes which allow for more one on one teaching. We are now implementing a Mentor program. The past few years have brought exciting enrichment programing to the school including an organic garden program and a whole school partnership with the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. We have new playground equipment and a new sound system for school events.

Lordship Elementary is wonderful. Ms. Murphy is the Principal and she is so friendly and inviting. The teachers have so much energy and go above and beyond in their classrooms. Parents are encouraged to get involved in everything from the PTA event planning to classroom assistance. Students enjoy learning from their teachers and their classmates parents and grandparents. It's a warm, safe enviroment which allows students to learn freely. They have specials including Spanish language from Kindergarten. CMT scores are impressive!
