I have attended this school since preschool this is the best school ever don't listen to the other parents, they never attended this school. The teachers are great expect one teacher I'm not going to say her name but when someone brings something with scent, she would give the kid detention and throw away the thing. Overall, this school is great. Just don't look at the map scores this school is on the bottom of the district of how bad the map tests are,

I had read the reviews and even had heard from a former employee that this school was far from great, however my kids wanted to give it a chance. I had also heard that there was a new principal coming in and he was trying make some positive changes, so I was hopeful. Let’s just say my kids will not be attending this school again! I seen how the principle tried but he was just one person and it didn’t seem like any of the other staff were enthusiastic about this. Unfortunately his time here was short lived and went on to another school. My second graders second week hear she came home and told me how she saw a homeless mad peeing on the fence, when I called the school to tell them my seven year old had saw a grown man peeing they just said “ o well sorry about that, unfortunately we are under staffed for yard duties”. A few months later her class mate found a knife on the playground and took it home. This is just a bit of what my one child experienced, I won’t even take up your time ranting about what my other kids said and what I have seen. The point is the teaching staff puts in bare minimum and this is hard to say coming from someone who highly respects teachers and education, especially because my mother was a teacher. There is no help if your child is struggling, teachers are either new or in experience or just plain exhausted and give up completely. The only good thing about this school is the attendance clerks from both sides of the anex and elementary side. If you can send your kid to another school that’s better, then do it. Even though the location is exceptionally convenient for me, I’d rather make the twenty to thirty minute commute to take them somewhere else.

I advise not to listen to the parents, it's likely they never applied here; probably only speaking on their experience and hearing their children's side. I went to this school (4th-8th) and had a decent time. Learning depends on the student, if confused they have to raise their voice- I had someone in my class who was always bold to ask questions and their grades fluctuated well. Majority of the failing students do not try due to lack of motivation, though it's understandable- doing your homework is honestly the whole grade which is kind of a downside, nowadays grades aren't the intelligence of a student but rather if they listen in class and do their homework. It was simple keeping a 3.8/4.0 for me, not because I was a know-it-all but because my parents expected too much of me | by force i had to keep my grades good. Teachers are fine, you learn well as long as you listen. Making friends isn't the easiest, especially if you grade up more and more but that genuinely depends on everyone themselves. Just like every other school, confidence is key; I myself never had confidence to raise my voice or talk a lot but having friends really boosted it. Unfortunately bullying is bound to happen here, though teachers try to keep it in control; I've seen situations where students get bullied(insults per se') for their disabilities or mentality. Also, I see complains in the reviews about using computers too much instead of the traditional ways- parents must understand that we have progressed as a society and cannot keep in the same as back then- from using chalkboards and paper. Nevertheless, I recommend this school if you live nearby, its just as great as any school near the area; if not more.

I would rate my experience at this school a ten/ten. I advice you not to look at “state test scores” because that is only the average. It does not define you well your child will do on tests. Just look at me, whenever I took tests at Great Valley. I always scored high because I put the effort in. If anything, some of the main cite office ladies are indirectly rude. In conclusion, as a graduate of Great Valley Elementary school that did preschool-8th grade, I can proudly say that my time here was absolutely amazing and I wish the same for your child.

One of the worst schools in Stockton. If you could avoid taking your children you should.

They are relying too much with computers, But no books, or writing. The teaching needs to step it up

Went to enroll my son to this school... you get tru main door big sign that reads this school is over crowded.! Next their staff look and IS so unprofessional. They are rude. And it seems they dont get along with each other there. The tons of homework! Literally my boy spends 3+ hrs at home doing homework after school every day of the week. I work late and come to sit and help my boys teacher do her job. Then he says that Mrs. .. shouldn't be a teacher because she doesn't enjoy her job. She gets strees/upset easily and yells at the kids a lot. And even told them to SHUT UP! As soon I can I will move him to a different school.
