Both of our children were fortunate to go through ElkHorn from 4th Grade to 8th Grade. Elkhorn is an all GATE school, so the style of teaching is different then what some might be used to. In each grade from 4th to 6th grade the instructors are getting the students up to speed on self sufficiency, project based learning, researching projects, team work, mental toughness, and being well rounded in their personal lives. My older daughter cried all through 4th grade and we almost pulled her out; however, we stuck it out and she is a 19 year old Junior in college and it is a breeze for her. All of the skills she learned in Elkhorn really made her challenging classes easier to handle. I highly recommend attending Elkhorn. The instructors are supportive and caring. The field trip experiences are incredible. I was a chaperone for almost all of them, and it was a pleasure going on an educational trip where the students were actually engaged in the material and experience of the trip. They have a quest for knowledge and Elkhorn staff and faculty are their to help them harness it. My only regret is that I only had two children to go through Elkhorn.....going to miss this school! Thank you Elkhorn staff, especially Mrs. Go-Miller and Mr. Raybe they are the best teachers I have EVER met.

Elkhorn is a part of the Lodi School District , so it goes without saying that it's not the best. The school is making me and my son cry everyday. The school's principal refuses to speak to me, she leaves everything to her secretary, Fran. The political discord is high at this school, as the teachers have the kids talk about politics and give their opinions, even though it makes my child uncomfortable to talk about this. They could change the subject to calmer subjects. The teachers teach what they want instead their subject. They hide homework, which makes it hard for my son to keep up. The teachers have the audacity to tell us how we are to dress in our own homes, neverminded they have no right to tell anyone in my home what to do. Today, my son's STEM teacher literally told my son to ask someone else for clarification on a STEM project! Apparently, he doesn't believe that it's his job to answer questions about projects he assigns! It blows my mind, considering everything is proven in an email. There's nothing we can to do about it since the the principal also refuses to do her job!!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

This school has been the most amazing, transformative experience of my children's lives thus far. I have a sixth grade student and a fourth grade student attending Elkhorn. They have never been happier. Yes, the workload can be intense but they are supported 100% by the entire staff. This is a safe environment free from bullies. Children are encouraged to be themselves. Children are encouraged to be independent thinkers. They are provided so many opportunities and experiences. The staff is friendly, caring and truly amazing. The team building they do is unprecedented. In my opinion you cannot do better than Elkhorn school.

This is a great school for students seeking advanced courses and preparation for the road ahead. Students attend Full GATE (Gifted And Talented Education) classes. State resources have prevented this school from providing lockers, class and research supplies, or a kitchen for proper meals. The parents have been tremendously supportive as well as the students with fundraising programs. There is so much potential with these students and teachers that it is a tragedy to have such limited resources.

Elkhorn was the best 2 years of my whole school experience. It has amazing testing scores and all of the teachers are AMAZING! Love everything about it. The homework and projects are stressful but trust me, it does prepare your student for high school and college. There are nights were you have 5 projects due at one time but it is not as bad as it sounds. The first tip is to never procrastinate (to be honest, I did procrastinate and I still got A's. Although it is not the case for everyone). The PE is great exercise and keeps your body at a good place. If you need any help, every single staff member including teachers are the best people to talk to. Never felt like this anywhere else. To be honest, it really felt like an Elkhorn family there. LOVE IT! Don't hesitate to enroll. Trust me its gonna be the best years of your education. :)

Elkhorn is definitely one of the best schools ever. I do not see why the community rating is not 5 stars. I am in eighth grade at Elkhorn and have been going there since fifth grade. Our teachers are SENSATIONAL. They truly care about our success and will listen. They celebrate and relate with us when we do something good, and try to help us when we do something not so good. They are SO supportive. Unlike some schools where students cannot have much say, leadership participates in making decisions. I find Elkhorn an excellent place to learn and grow. The work level is sometimes high, but it is an important quality for a school to have since it helps us to prepare for high school and college. I truly feel I am prepared for almost anything. Elkhorn is an exciting opportunity, and I have changed so much through this experience! If you are debating whether to come to Elkhorn or to send your child to Elkhorn, I am highly recommending this opportunity. If you are hardworking and are seeking a place to prepare for what is coming later in a supportive and outstanding environment, this is DEFINITELY the place to be. I love Elkhorn and will always see it as the best 5 years of my early life.
