If you don’t want your child “misplaced”, brought home by a complete stranger without your consent, placed in a class with a “teacher” who isn’t even a certified teacher, or rely on the bus system, avoid this school by any and all means necessary. If you have the option, go to Perkins schools… or literally anywhere but here.

As a former educator at this site, I have many positive things to say about the much of the staff and the students of the school. The population is increasingly diverse in terms of religious, racial, and ethnic backgrounds. Many of the teachers are fantastic, dedicating themselves to the well being of the students in terms of their academic and social/ emotional well being. The current administration while seemingly loved by many has ensured that educators with dissenting opinions or differences outside of their predetermined preferences are unwelcome. Their certified staff has grown to he increasingly caucasian in a site that needs to see diverse role models. The marginalization of educators who do not fit the admin’s very narrow idea of who can be a successful educator is increasingly troublesome. Evaluations are used punitively. It is not uncommon for teachers to resign due to hostile environments and micro aggressions. While this site is seemingly in the midst of a “turn around,” the optics belie a site’s true nature which I believe parents would ultimately be disappointed in. As an educator of nearly 20 years, I have never witnessed such unprofessional administration in my career.
