This has been the best school I have ever transferred my children to. The time and dedication the staff is with our children is indescribable. Dr. Bernard is such a dedicated principal and is the definition ofServant Leadership in this school. She not only helps teachers provide excellent teaching strategies but also works with the parent to be more involved and helps with techniques for teaching ur child at home. The Stickney police department is highly involved and attentive to the children of only with traffic duty on the street but walk the hallways to help children feelSafe and assuring not only staff but parents as well that safety is nothing u need to worry about. This has been the most welcoming area not only with neighbors but parents at school as well.

My son attended Edison for his entire elementary experience and we could not be happier with the education, personal development and tons of extracurricular programs he enjoyed from basketball, yearbook committee, honor society, safety patrol, caring community and even performing in the 5th grade send off. Thank you for a wonderful experience, Edison - you helped my son to be a very well rounded, educated and personable individual!

My son has attended Edison from Kindergarten through fourth grade so far and we have had an excellent experience overall. All of his teachers have been excellent and they identified when he needed extra help. His reading scores improved with this personal attention. In addition, the school has excellent leadership with principal Dr. Bernard - she knows all of the kids by name and demonstrates extreme dedication and care for all students. Lastly, the school does a great job of offering students many extracurricular activities. Highly recommend this school!

I feel Edison is a great school. The staff goes above and beyond for all of the students. I read in a review that the staff is "chit chatting" or sneaking on the phone. Well, what YOU don't realize is we use DOJO it us an app ON THE PHONE. Before you harass the PTA page and leavr bad reviews you should consider doing your homework. Or volunteering. After all you live across the street, don't you??

There is a reason this school received a 2/10... complete failure! The principal is incompetent and does not take pride in her job. They do not ever promote safety of the children, instead they chit chat and do not monitor the children. The district is no help either as their concern is obviously not for children's safety. You can complain or plead but it will not matter because incompetence breeds incompetence. This school is such a disappointment of what an education can bring and instead is led with rudeness and misinformation. They do not inform parents of activities they decide until last minute but instead rely on five year olds to relay messages to their parents. Lack of communication due to the inability to perform their jobs with integrity and responsibility. This school has been a waste of space and a true waste of every child's potential.

Edison in Stickney is a great school! The principal is very nice and does a good job BUT- who gives tardys and detentions to kindergarten children who are a few seconds late ??? A lot of times you have to wait until everyone else's child is let out of the car before it's your turn to let your child out? So who is running late??? I never heard of anything so ridiculous! A concerned Grandparent!

The principal/teachers/staff really care about the students. They work with kids from many different ethnic backgrounds as well as rates of learning. Those that exceed expectations get to participate in the Think program, which allows them to learn using different thought processes. Our son has had the opportunity to be in Think for 3 years now. We are very involved in our sons education and partake in the majority of the events offered at Edison and SD103. Teaching is not just at schools, parents also need to take part in their child's education. Dr. Bernard makes that a very easy process.

This school is a very friendly place to be. Our students are happy to be here & love to learn!! They really demonstrate our school motto: Be respectful, be responsible, & give best effort. We have been a Spotlight School in Illinois for the past several years. The dedication of our teachers & the hard work of our students really shines through with the fantastic ISAT scores that we have achieved over the last several years!! It's a great place to be!!

I am constantly amazed at the community environment seen throughout Edison School. We are more than a school, but a community and family. Staff works together to help meet the needs of all of our students. You often see teachers staying after school willingly to help their students, as well as at extra-curricular activities to show their support and interest. Parents and other community members are welcome volunteers at our school, and can been seen spending time with students to help them succeed. Students are kind to one another and come to school ready to learn. Great things come from the students at Edison School because of the positive supports surrounding them. It truly is a community school and a thriving one at that!

Edison school is a wonderful place to work. The staff, students, and parents are like family. Our teachers work hard and always have our students best interests at hand. Dr. Bernard works very hard to have an atmosphere of learning and respect.

Edison school is a great place to learn. The teachers and students work hard to meet the demands of Common Core State Standards. When you walk into the school it is a very welcoming feeling. We have a number of community and parent volunteers that come to school and work with individual students. It is truly a community school supported by many stakeholders. Communication between parents and teachers is very important. Both teachers and parents don't hesitate to communicate with each other via phone calls, notes, and e-mails. Students and safety are the number one priority.
