My daughter started sixth grade this year and overall I find the school to well run and organized. My daughter enjoys her classes and is in advanced English and Math. The class size range in size from 15 to 26. I wouldn't say that the classes are particularly challenging and there are no services for gifted and talented students which is disappointing. There are only 120 kids in my daughter's grade. They offer a few after school activities such as basketball, theatre, and soccer. Overall, I feel like it's a safe environment and we'll run.

This school is terrible. There is a couple good teachers through the year as Mr.Schulte, Mr.Gould, Mrs. Pippin, and Mrs Browhawn we’re great while I was there. But most other teachers are just their for the paycheck and out. The Students get in fights, many students are soft, when there is a serious issue it is just taken in as suspension. And Many times the person found “guilty” for the actions never gets a chance to prove themselves innocent. The one good thing about this school is how the special education kids are treated and their teachers truly care.

It has been AMAZING!! The school staff cares about the students and the leadership at the school does an outstanding job.

This school literally saved my son's life. This school is amazing not only because of its teachers but because of the leadership of Dr. Holocker. The small class sizes, the constant focus on what kids are doing right and are great at make for an environment where kids want to go to school and do the right things. I now feel safe and secure with my daughter starting here this upcoming school year unlike how I feared for her with the school she would have attended had we not moved.

I really like Matapeake an I been hear for 2 years, all the kids fit in no matter if your goth or popular, everyone gets along (trust me I'm a emo) and all the teachers will care about u and help you out, not with just work, the only 1 flaw about this place, the punishments, I don't consider myself as a bad kid but when I do something bad they have ridiculous punishments. But all the teachers care about u ex Mrs. McGill Mrs Kovosh and Dr Holocker are the best. Oh and I can't even begin how good every thing is, if u put your kids in this place your kids will have a great time so come to MMS, Home of the Sting rays

I love the school and I love the people in the school the teachers are really nice and they really help you out I am on my 2 year hear and it is grate, but however their is one thing that I hate about this school and that I always hated is that Mrs Kovosh the vice principal at Matapeake Middle she is just so mean. The principle is so nice to the kids she goes around at lunch and talks to the kids and all the kids their likes her way better than Mrs Kovosh. All the other teachers are good teachers and they help you out if you need help ex in 7th grade like we're I am now

I have been attending Matapeake for two years now, and can say I am happy to leave. The schools staff do not care about any issues the students may have, and treated myself and others with no respect or kindness. Some teachers are even frightening, and have me afraid to go to class. Because the population is almost 100% white, it is extremely dull, and as a student of a different race, it is hard to be "accepted". The dress code is also absolutely ridiculous, the teachers are allowed to break it, but when I did, I was forced into wearing dirty oversized mens shorts all day. This school is awful. Do not attend.
