The school doesn't help my kid at all. Some of the staff were very rude when we expressed our concerns and didn't follow our daughter's IEP accommodations (by law they have to), blatantly lying to us when we asked if they were. It was so bad that we had to get an advocate from Vermont Family Network involved and she didn't like what was happening. She was also being harassed by other students to the point where we had to file a Title IX. NO updates, no discipline from the offender, nothing. The staff isn't putting in any effort with encouraging and helping my kid. They just gave up on her. it was so bad that she expressed that she wanted to drop out. That's not something you want to hear as a parent. Something needs to improve. I don't recommend the school at all since they can't take students' & parent/guardians issues seriously. Springfield High School: Do better.

Like the community it serves, Springfield High School does face challenges. From my interactions with Teachers and Administration, I have found most of them to be dedicated to their jobs and the students they serve. One of the unique benefits the school has is being attached to the Howard Dean Education Center which offers vocational and college course opportunities to it's students.

SHS is a great school for your kids the teachers are very helpful and friendly and the students are for the most part very nice kids. They also have very good sports programs.
