I went to this school from 2014- 2021 and I have autism. I had good years and bad years but when they were bad it was really bad. Most of the staff are amazing and super nice. My 3rd grade teacher was literally the nicest teacher I have ever had and will ever have. She is a great fit for any family. The only terrible year I had was 2nd grade. I got in trouble daily mostly for no reason.

My son with an IEP was stop patted from the rest of the class and faced toward the back of the wall for several days until I took steps to pursue legal action. His IEP was too help him with work completion and was not behavioral. He never was a danger to honestly or others. The principal did absolutely nothing to assist in the matter. If your child needs any extra assistance and is not neurotypical, they shouldn't be here. Worth the drive to get them into a different elementary school.

Moran Prairie is not a good place for kids with learning differences or disabilities. They will implement a 504 plan and then not use it. They discourage active learning and creativity. Kids are bullied and shamed by the teachers. The children are meant to fit into a box and when they don't it's up to you as a parent to groom them to fit into that box. The size makes it almost impossible for the staff and principal to keep up. Concerns are swept under the rug and forgotten about.

This school has many, many cons, with few pros sprinkled in. The office staff and principal are just terrible. Rude, clueless, and negative. Children, and parents, are afraid to go into the office for fear of the rude treatment you will receive! While there are a few truly dedicated and kind teachers/staff, unfortunately the majority of staff are lazy and collecting huge paychecks for mediocre teaching (some teachers don't teach at all~ just scream at kids). The whole experience of Moran Prairie has left a very negative taste with us. We are moving on.

My daughter was a transplant student from Hamblin. She has ADHD and my decision to transfer her came from the decrease in self esteem and awareness of her own abilities. She struggled in grades and dealing with authority. I thought maybe school was going to be a struggle for her (and she was only in the 4th grade). But when I moved her to Moran Prairie in 4th grade she was assigned to Mrs. Day's 4th grade class. And my daughters entire school experience changed. Mrs. Day is a prime example of how much a teacher can impact a students mind set on school. I am forever grateful for her and the skills and love my daughter received from her. One of the best schools she has ever attended! We are now in Arizona, but I would absolutely recommend this school. We had to intradistrict but it was sOOooOo worth it. Great staff, principle, teachers, etc! AWESOME SCHOOL!

We looked into a private school placement, but decided to try out Moran Prairie first. We've now had 2 kids in the school since 2010. We wouldn't trust our kids anywhere else! The principal is top notch, greeting kids each morning at the curb. The teachers we've had are caring, interested and attempt to meet each child as an individual with unique needs. The parents have always been present in each of my kids classes and the teachers have welcomed and encouraged it. The PTG is extremely generous and involved too. All in all, our time at Moran Prairie is way more than we expected of a public school.

We were originally going to enroll in a private school, after much thought, research and contact we decided to give Moran a try. I am sooo happy that we did! The teachers are hands down the best, the staff is amazing, and the parents are all involved. If you want the best school in Spokane put your kids here! The test scores prove they are the BEST!! Just go and ask other teachers in other school what they are doing and you will see that Moran can not be beat! The kids are getting the best education available at this school. If this is something is important to you, look no further, enroll today!

Great school. Fantastic parent support and involvement. Principal is very personable and really cares about the students. Faculty is really engaged with students and want them to be their best. Most volunteer for extra curricular duties for the children. Really nice school to be involved with.

we just finished our last grade 6th here and our boy said to me "I'm happy I never have to go to that school anymore, ever. The school staff is unfriendly , the principle is sleazy person. If you are not satisfied with the teacher's response, you should contact the principal. Trust me, you can't contact this principle, because he will show you "O" concern about your concern or your children's concern.

The previous school district which we moved from was pretty good so we were skeptical about schools in Spokane, generally. However, to our surprise, Moran Prairie is much better than we excepted. Most of the teachers there I know are compassionate and helpful, especially my daughter's teacher who taught the whole class 2 grade ahead of the common core standards (math and reading) and most of the students are able to cope with it. If every American teacher is like her, our students definitely can beat against students overseas in the future. Moran Prairie also has a very strong PTG due to parents' high involvement and generous financial support -- it makes this school feel like a public "private" school.

The worst public school, the principle is a real bs_j, teachers are low quality. Not recommended, avoid this public school at all cost. Real bad school.
