I was skeptical of the school since it was in such a rural area. However, I fell in love with the atmosphere. The teachers and principal were kind and so very caring. They always went the extra mile for my child with a slight learning disability. The teachers consistently monitored his progress and have been very open minded to our needs and concerns. I'm a big believer in ongoing evaluations and the school does as well. The students were kind and helpful to my son. I really enjoyed the diverse extra curricular activities that were available. Lastly, I'm impressed with how the staff takes such precautions in furthering not only the educating of our children, but the precautionary measures that the school has installed in keeping our children safe. The only improvement I would like to see is the traffic flow TO the school. It's an engineer's nightmare.

Frankly, I think the discipline the fantastic at this school. It is fantastic that the paddle and God are still part of the school. Which more were like it.

Cotaco School is a wonderful school with many positive and exciting qualities. The teachers promote quality educational standards and exemplify high morals and encourage students to treat their fellow classmates as the golden rule states. Personally, I love the fact that firm discipline is administered as necessary in a time when society seems to neglect children and our children are confused about what is morally right or wrong. Cotaco has a fabulous TAG program, a technology lab in both elementary and jr.high , a superior band program, and a beautiful library. My children have received an excellent education at Cotaco, and I have always known that they were in a safe environment when they entered the halls. Yes, rules are in place and fairly and onsistently enforced which teaches our students to respect authority. This prepares them for a good life, not just life. Great school!

This school is terrible. They don't understand new educational concepts and approaches. Cotaco still paddles students and is very militant in their discipline. Also, they do not have art or music for students. The school has religious figurines and a bible on display. They also read Christian books promoting the religion. At the end of last school year an "up and coming " country singer put on a show regarding bullying and ended with a concert including songs called "What Daddy Don't Know" and. "I'll be your whiskey". Teachers are not held accountable for their behavior and minority students are treated differently. They do not want parents involved and refuse to properly communicate. This school is a nightmare for anyone hoping to prepare their children for life in this century. It saddens me to even give them one star.

The teachers at Cotaco are the best - my kids are in 2nd & 4th grades now and we've had great experiences with both since they started there in grade K. The teachers are the backbone - really really good and caring. I love that this school is dedicated to being a math & science school, not just all about sports. Also, the TAG program is fantastic!
