My grandkids attend Allen. I volunteered at Allen. I never saw volunteers discussing children. I was busy helping teachers with menial jobs so they could focus on providing materials that helped their students. As a former teacher, I was able to do quite a few projects for them to enrich learning. I know how much teachers do at night just to keep students interested and to provide individual enrichment for students that learn more slowly. All students in one grade do not learn at the same rate. I would think that volunteers could do more than sit around talking. I certainly did not have time to engage in idle gossip. And I never saw that occur. Sounds like more of a volunteer’s responsibility to stop this. Teachers do not have time to police volunteers. If you can’t help—stay home.

10/10 ... any issue no matter small or big has always been handled, they’re always looking to help all students succeed. My daughter has been there For 5yrs going on her 6th and last year while my youngest will start her 1st year... the teachers and staff are so kind and caring with everyone. I have never had any problem that couldn’t be resolved and worked out. There isn’t any bullying that I know of that’s happened in the last five years, I am very involved with the school and keep in contact with teachers and principal through the apps provided and through email. They really care about going above and beyond to ensure your child succeeds in all areas. I moved to this area bc of this school 6yrs ago, and I am glad I did. I look forward to the next 6years with them as well!

Horrible. This school needs to shut down the parents "Volunteering" there all day every day when really they just sit in the PTA room and gossip about other moms and kids. Its awful. The teachers need to stop being allowed to teach their friends kids in their classroom and make them go into another classroom because of the immense favoritism. parents need to be told to go home and not hang out at the school all day long

Our family absolutely loves this school! I feel blessed that my girls were able to have a wonderful elementary school, for it sets the foundation in the future of their learning!

I am so thankful that the school year is almost over and that my daughter will finish 5th grade at this horrible school. The only thing good about her 5th grade teachers was the math teacher. He has made a different in her math comprehension. The music and physical education teachers are good as well. Her other two teachers should find another profession. We have tried for 5 years to avoid the cliches and deal with Hamilton County public education. NO LONGER. The administration at this school will not step in and discipline the children when needed. They just want to pass the buck. I have personal examples but I will not post names online. Avoid this school at all costs.

Way too much gossiping among some of the teachers, staff, and PTA volunteers. So much that lies are stirred around that it has even had my son so upset listening to a woman telling lies about his mother. Fortunately, my children have had some of the really good teachers there. My youngest kind of clashed with one, but none the less, she was a good, caring teacher. I believe you can have too much parent involvement. I do not volunteer for anything here because of how horrible some of these women are. Not all, but it's pretty bad.

Allen elementary is a very good school !! My two daughters went there and loved it . The teachers are very caring and concerned about my children's progress . The whole staff is like a huge family concerned for their kids . I currently live up north and whenever I talk about good schools Allen elementary is always the one .
