If you are LDS and are good at football this maybe the perfect school for you. If you are not a football player and are atheist or agnostic or even plain old christian, you will feel very left out and more then likely singled out and bullied because you do not have the RIGHT religion. They say prayer at school events like graduation FYI.

SHS doesn't help student find scholarships. There is a guidance dept. but they just tell you to look online for scholarships! Not cool. They should be active in helping students seek higher education but that doesn't happen. It's a joke. If your plan is to stay in a small town and not further your education... then you found the right school. If you have other plans after High School.. then you would be wise to drive to Blue Ridge... they promote higher education.

Lack of diversity? The music program in the school is awesome. The Madrigals, the band, orchestra and thespians deserve a great big round of applause. The media department is up and coming and under very good direction. The auto shop, wood shop and arts departments are great for a school this size. Yeah, athletics events are nice, the Lobo football program is great fun, but only those who are in a constent state of napping can't see that there is so much more going on.

If you're into sports.. or I should say Football.. then great.. otherwise look into another school or homeschool. Principal seems not to care about anything BUT football. Teachers try.. but with no back up from Admin seem to give up. Sad really.. It could be very good school under different management.
