This is an amazing school infant thru high school. Every teacher, staff member, Educational Assistant knows each kid by name and is always willing to go out of their way to assist. They start learning how to play violin, and spanish in kindergarten, as it helps them expand their knowledge base. Over the last year people are amazed on how grown up our kids have become and how respectful they are of others. WE couldn't do any of this without the support of our School Family. and that is what it truly is, an extended family. They are building World Ready, Faith Secured kids starting in their infant program, all the way thru high school. The high schoolers are willing to interact with the elementary kids, and know them by name, which is something you don't get at the bigger school settings.

Our family has been at Sioux Falls Lutheran School for 5 years now, and it has been a wonderful blessing. Because the school is rooted in the local LCMS churches, we feel confident in the Biblical teachings and love that our kids see their teachers, pastors, and friends not just at school but also at church on Sundays. I truly believe the Holy Spirit drew us to SFLS. My husband and I never once considered sending our children to a private school as we assumed we could not afford it. But after one day of our first child attending a public school, the Holy Spirit stirred our souls and made it clear that we should dedicate our children's schooling to the Lord. We talked to the school's administration and they were so welcoming and explained all the ways that we could receive help with the tuition to make it affordable for our family. The Lord makes a way! Our kids come home singing wonderful songs of faith and Jesus' love, they tell of all the cool things they learn about regarding God's awesome creations, and they learn to deal with the difficulties of this world in a loving, Biblical way. We love seeing the school grow with new families and teachers, and what an absolute blessing that our youngest elementary student will see their older middle school and high school siblings in the same hallways in the coming years! So many parents are willing to share their gifts and talents with the children that it is unlike any experience you will find elsewhere; it is a true family in Christ.

Sioux Falls Lutheran has been such an amazing school for my two year old and my five year old. Not only are the teachers, so loving and kind, they do a great job of preparing the preschoolers for kindergarten. I love that the lead teacher in each classroom has a degree in early childhood development, so they know what is developmentally appropriate both academically and behavioral. I love the school so much that my five year old is going to be attending kindergarten there even though I never thought I would send my kids to private school. Administration is also so helpful and so focused on sharing the love of Jesus with the community. I highly recommend!!

I love that my kids are attending a school in a Christian environment. The love and support and guidance they receive from everyone is the best! The athletic and music opportunities are amazing too!

This school has been an incredible blessing to our family over the last four years. The community of Christ-following individuals who teach and love our kids is second to none.

Our family has chosen Sioux Falls Lutheran for our 2 kids. Both of my children are thriving, and I'm so moved when I see their spiritual growth play out in their day to day lives. Safe setting, strong academics, talented staff, and most importantly a place that exists to honor Jesus. So cool. It's our jam.

At Sioux Falls Lutheran School, we recognize that financial considerations play an important role in each family’s educational decisions. It is our fervent prayer that the cost of tuition would not be an obstacle for any family when choosing to pursue a Christ-centered education at SFLS. Our desire is to lovingly serve families and children in all areas, including assistance in affording tuition. When SFLS awards tuition assistance to families, our goal is to strike a balance between generosity and good stewardship. God instructs His people to be generous when he says, “…but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be” (Deuteronomy 15:8). To that end, SFLS provides up to $150,000 in needs-based tuition assistance to qualifying families each year. Families who wish to be considered for needs-based tuition assistance funds complete an annual application during the spring semester each school year.In addition to being as generous as possible with families who are eligible for tuition assistance, SFLS also strives to be good stewards of the gifts God has given. St. Peter teaches us, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another; as good stewards of God’s varied grace…” (1 Peter 4:10). In our efforts to be generous and good stewards of God’s gifts, we ask that families with sufficient financial resources not apply for tuition assistance. There are other avenues for modest tuition assistance that may be more suitable for some of our school families, such as the SCRIP program.

The teachers are wonderful and the learning experience for my child has been great. Unfortunately, the administration and school board seem to be out of touch with the cost for schooling (approximately $8,000 per year for one elementary child in 2020-21). That is about double what is realistic for Sioux Falls income levels. SFLS is now one of—if not the—most expensive option for private school in Sioux Falls, yet the board and administration continue to press a false narrative that they are "affordable and competitive on cost." The school also recently has gone through a merger with Lutheran High School of Sioux Falls, and while long-term it may end up being a benefit to the school, short-term the board has carried this out without being forthright and honest. The school board and administration have used other tactics to push this through as quickly as possible in order to secure a few hundred thousand dollars. This, however, has come at the expense of hurting fellow hard-working Christians. These tactics have shown that current leadership has placed priority on money over people. This is not in line with the Christian principles that we teach our children, and until leadership here changes, and tuition comes down to a reasonable level, I cannot in good faith recommend this school.

After two years of preschool at this school my son is still not ready for moving into our local school district. As a parent I am so very disappointed that they had no idea that he was not ready. They don't do regular testing to better understand his compression. Almost $4,000 for playing with others.

Our children love SFLS and we are thankful for the opportunity to attend such a GREAT school. We believe that our children are receiving a wonderful education from teachers who are truly gifted and caring. What sets this school apart from others is that the students are like family, they are happy to be at school and they have an excitement and love for learning- thanks to their passionate teachers. SFLS also has a phenomenal music program that our children have thoroughly enjoyed. From the SFLS staff to the students and from the classroom to the extracurricular activities, SFLS not only provides a GREAT academic experience, but they also do a GREAT job of reflecting the heart of Christ.
