This school has some good properties to it. There were an extensive range of elective courses that they had to offer to students, and was the main reason students showed up to school in the first place. I am a former student that attended Silverton High School, and I do NOT advise you to send your children here. There are many teachers here who could not care less for students, they offer next to no mental health support for the students. In fact, when I went to my counselor and expressed to him how I was having trouble understanding the material that was being "taught" to me in class, and I was struggling mentally with the workload and was just overall having a horrible time with teachers, students, homework, etc... They suggested that I consider taking MEDICATION. Because of course the problem was me and not them. That is the only advice my counselor had offered to me in order to "help me out." I am not just saying this because I was some "delinquent" either. I was a good student, I had a GPA of 3.0, I showed up to class on time and tried to stay out of trouble. But this school has continuously let me down over and over again. The teachers and the staff here do not care for the students whatsoever, and I can say that with confidence. I was given no grace nor help when I needed it and requested it. I was continually ignored and pushed aside, simply because they didn't feel like dealing with me, or maybe it was because I wasn't one of the favorite or popular students that they actually care for. Because that was this school will do, unless you or your child fits the criteria for one of their favorite students, they will do nothing to help you. They did nothing about the bullying I had experienced there, even when I had come forward about it. Please save your child the stress and trauma of going through the same experiences I did. Do NOT send them here.

It was overall terrible. The food is filled with chems and is very low quality. The arts are shunned and ignored by the school, and has a racist core within. Sure the sports are great, but that is because more funding goes into that than education itself.
