This school is probably one of the worst schools in the Northern Dayton area. For one, a good chunk of teachers are straight out of college and usually leave after 3 years; to get a better job at a better school. This leads to hit and miss teachers, on how effective they are. While I was there, there were literally 5 principles over a term of 4 years. Also, they don’t prep students to get accepted into college as they only have 4 AP classes, as they opted to go mostly with college credit plus classes. Bullying is literally a joke to them until something bad happens. Plus, the community doesn’t support the school district at all, they haven’t voted for a tax increase for over a decade, and the people who can have their kids attend other schools outside the district do instead. The school is essentially a feeder for the local factories, the school even has a program for it and they call it work force.

Great experience. Helped prepare me to go to The Ohio State University from which I recently graduated. Without the preparation from the dedicated teachers, coaches, and mentors, I would not have been ready to face the challenges college would bring.

I have had a very nice experience at sidney high school. I have always been a proud yellow jacket and a cheerleader. Despite my rating I think it was a pretty good school. Not everyone can say that about sidney though so I had to voice others opinion

Sidney High School has amazing academic programs - more than 20 dual enrollment courses, 9 advanced placement courses, in addition to a number of college and career preparatory classes. Most impressive, the Academia team is ranked in the top 25 in the nation and top 5 in the state of Ohio! If your child is dedicated to learning, SHS staff will ensure they get the best education possible!

Sidney schools suck in general. Look at their state rating. Too many delinquents and unmotivated students and teachers.Way too many administrative personnel. I pulled my child and put her into county school.

Sidney High School has an amazing staff, great leadership, and outstanding students! I am proud to be a Sidney Yellow Jacket and know I would not have had the life experiences I have had if it weren't for the teachers that guided me along in my grade school years, always pushing me to excel.

Sidney High offers many after school programs in sports and music. It annually received more college scholarship funding than any near by school. Those students planning on college are offered many AP classes in Math, English, Physics and Chemistry. My college bound students all received academic honors and scholarship money thanks to the excellent teaching offered at Sidney High.
