The Best Four Years Of My Life!

I had a fantastic experience attending Saint John's. I graduated in 2013 and many of the things I learned I am now applying to my full-time job and are helping me to succeed in the professional world.

I graduated quite a long time ago (1989), so my review may be outdated. But if the school has held true to its core values and long-standing traditions, things haven't changed much where it counts. Saint John's provided an outstanding foundation for my life, preparing me well for college and life beyond. The staff truly CARED about the students and about the joy of learning, and the student body itself was made up of dedicated young men who cared less about athletic prowess or what car you drove, and instead appreciated the diversity of talents and backgrounds around them. It is safe to say that I would not have enjoyed my current level of success in life without the great preparatory education I received at St. John's.

I graduated SJ in 1982 and floundered horribly socially in a NESCAC 4-year college of high quality. But most of my classmates also went to 4-year New England colleges and had very few problems. The problem was with me and not SJ. What SJ did, however, was to impress upon me that being accountable diligent, and prepared were qualities that would never fail. In addition, my relationship to God was nourished there, and was placed above all other values the school espouses. Whether I got 5's on AP tests or not, and whether I got sports awards or not, I was told, was not important. What was important was trusting and relying on a loving, involved God--with that as a foundation, the rest would take care of itself. I'm grateful to report that the folks at SJ were right about this. When things go wrong as they invariably will in this life, faith wins the day. That lesson is worth its weight in gold, and that was at the center of what the SJ education was all about. The other good things were important and stressed, but were, shall we say, the frosting on the cake.
