No cafeteria short school days only 6 hr days. Kids have to eat pizza everyday and have to walk to get it so be prepared to spend 25 dollars a week on lunch for your child this school has such short days the teachers do not have time to teach the students properly. My child is doing the same math and science I did in 7th grade at sherrard middle and he is in 11th grade. Do not send your kids here they will not be prepared for college not even Belmont tech

Don't get me wrong town pride & athletics are great; however, if your child is an academic superstar there is nothing for them here. There is so much emphasis on sports that the other kids get overlooked. As far as the bullying Ruberic that is supposed to be enforced forget about it. This school is run down with no air & kids are let loose at lunch. My child is entering high school online.

I am an Alumni of Shadyside. My husband and children are all Alumni of Shadyside. I love this school, however, there are many problems. Maintenance is not being done to the buildings, when toilets are broken, a plastic bag is placed over it. Water lays in the corner of Leona Middle School girls restroom. Rooms are not clean, dust bunnies are everywhere. There are a handful of teachers that do not know how to teach, and those in charge feel that their hands are tied. Food has not been served at the high school for over 15 years. We need major changes. The school needs rules and parents need to support those rules. This a group effort needing the school, parents and the community support. We can't bend rules because "Johnny" is a football player. Students need to also be involved and responsible.

This school is horrible. The teachers are horrible, and so is the principal. Don't come here if you want to excel academically. This school is all about sports, it's all we have. No one has control. Also, the janitors do no cleaning, the school is disgusting. This is why I am going to online school. It's sad when an online school is better than an actual school.
