BEWARE. Bullying is socially acceptable here. They refused to listen to our childs plea for help while the kids who play on the local football team bullied, harassed and tormented him the last two weeks of school.The excuse the teachers gave our child was "if you dont know their names or have any witnesses we cant believe what you say." How in the world is our child suppose to know the names of their bullies???? Judging by their response, the school protects their athletes and throws everyone else under the bus. Trying to reach the principal during the last two weeks of school was impossible. It was like they actively avoided dealing with the situation because school was almost over.The same bully harassed our child on orientation night before school even started! Their parents openly mocked our child as well.The staff need to be investigated and evaluated. I hope the district is reading this.

This school has excellent teachers, they Nice, smart and intelliengce ,and the teacher that teaches Read 180 does a great job, so far love the school.

Such a wonderful school, I have had one child go through all three yrs here and she loved it there (and while we did have a bullying issue it was very quickly stopped when I talked to the teachers & principal, they made it a point to have a bullying talk in every class that week). I now have a second child attending and it is still just as wonderful as before. This school has an amazing music dept and it is so nice to have a school where the arts are still encouraged. All of the staff, teachers & the principals are great and will help in any way they can if you take the time to talk & communicate with them. And I love the school festivals, the Christmas Around The World one is amazing

We moved into the area almost 2 years ago & almost Instantly my daughter was bullied not only by peers but By her teacher as well ( I believe this teacher made it ok To bully in her class) coming into Seymour intermediate My daughter had exceptional grades and a ton of friends at her old school, she had terrible grades here & came home crying every day! Her 2nd year here was a bit better, A/B honor roll 3/4 of the year but something happened & the bullying began and her teacher became very mean to my child. I am praying this new school year will bring more happier times! The principal & asst principal are great. But I just think there has be a more serious look into the bullying.

With 2 special needs children we couldn't be happier with the teachers and administration. The support is exceptional. I have found that, unless the parent is actively involved the student tends to slide through the cracks. These educators are often treated like they are babysitter instead of professionals.

My 12-year-old niece was enrolled this year in Seymour Intermediate after moving here from Alabama with her mother. She is a very shy girl who was bullied at her private school in Alabama, but she is thriving in Seymour Intermediate. She loves it! She says the teachers are kind, helpful and very interested in making sure all students are getting the help they need. She has made many friends, including her first boyfriend, and has not seen any signs of the bullying she experienced in Alabama. I rate Seymour Intermediate as an excellent school.
