Love, love, love this school! The minute my children walked through the doors of Clarendon school it felt like home. The principal was so kind, the teachers were friendly (greeting us as we walked throughout the building) and the students were so polite. This elementary school earns all the stars I can give because my children come home happy everyday.

It is a shame that a school like this belongs to the USA educational system. I came from a developing country and I have to say that this school is the worst comparing to all schools back home. I feel sorry for having my kids attending this school and seriously think to move to another city.

If the NJASK scores are an important factor in rating this school, then the school and Secaucus Board of Ed. should look into programs, such as Study Island or Lumos to assists the students to improve their scores in both Math and Language Arts. Overall, most teachers from K-6th grade care about the children's learning, since I have children that graduated from the school.

I am very displease. CST are placing my son in a self contain class which I live in Huber st. CST rejected my request but without considering any service like one to one aid. They made me first think I had no other options CST said there was no services in Huber. I ask for a re evaluation so we can see what was the best placement for my son because I was not please and still wanted him in Huber Street. CST place my son in a self contain class starting fall 2013 which I wasn't included on the decision making and an IEP hasn't even been developed. I just don't understand how the CST could make an important decision regarding my son's placement without me. You enter thinking the teachers and administrators have the best interest for your child but so far I have seen they don't. You are the only one that has the best interest for your child. They don't want to provide with every service or make the effort. So far what I have seen with my experience with this school you have to show them you know your rights. I can't really say how the school is for general ed because they are not providing it my son with that option.

I think secaucus schools are suffering from growing pains of population growth due to heavy expansion in rental complexes such as Exchange, Osprey Cove etc. The current infrastructure is not enough to support the additional pupils and the mayor should start planning for the situation. I am thinking of moving out of Secaucus before my son starts first grade. I think the teacher quality has gone down due to budget cuts etc.
