We LOVE the Graham Hill community. Every interaction we’ve had with the teachers, staff, volunteers, etc. have been beyond lovely. Communication with the front office staff is smooth and great. Teachers are very dedicated in creating a safe and fun learning environment. The school has strong leadership which shows the moment you walk in the building. They also have a very active and involved PTA. In addition to parent teacher conferences, GH offers separate academic meetings throughout the year which we found helpful in identifying and supporting our kid achieve their academic goals. The preschool and after school program that KidsCo offers is amazing too and they’re in the same building which is a huge plus. Highly recommend this school!

Graham Hill is such a gem. It reminds me of the neighborhood schools I grew up with. Small classes, engaged teachers who are truly a community/partnership with the families, and a school culture that places tremendous value on respecting kids/families of all abilities, experiences, and cultures. I have a 3rd grader and 1st grader at Graham Hill and am so glad I'll get to send my youngest there, too. My kids are happy, supported, and thriving. Before we lived in the neighborhood, my oldest (now a high schooler) spent a few years at a private school, and Graham Hill knocks that private school out of the water in every single category. We feel so lucky to be part of Graham Hill! Also worth noting, there is an on-site before/after school care and preschool program (KidsCo), which is also excellent.

We are so happy at Graham Hill!!! Our son’s teacher is kind and communicative. They are using a systematic phonics program and we see his reading beginning to soar. The principal takes such an active interest and adds to the welcoming vibe of the school. We couldn’t ask for more.

Love Graham Hill Elementary! We have 2 children there, and we opted in to this school because of the enriching services and vibrant community. We get the academic supports that we need, and the school administration is attentive, compassionate and proactive about serving the diverse needs of our families in an equitable manner. The school has the best grounds, including a new playground and newly refurbished p-patch for outdoor learning. There's an active PTA to provide further enrichment of school activities and events.

This just happened to be our neighborhood school but we feel extremely lucky that it is! We are so impressed by the leadership, the teachers and the community at Graham Hill Elementary. They really takes care of their students in a multitude of ways. We couldn’t have found a better school if we tried!

This is our second year at Graham Hill and it’s been such a wonderful experience for our kiddo. The school community has felt incredibly supportive, her class sizes have been small, and we have been consistently impressed with all of the teachers and staff we’ve encountered. Graham Hill serves a wonderfully diverse student population and really fosters a sense of community among its students. It has exceeded our expectations in many different ways and we are excited for the additional years that our kids will have the opportunity to attend school there.

My kids have been at the school since 2011. There have been major changes in the community since they first started school, which is reflected in the structure and makeup. As with any school, there are great things and challenging things.PROS: motivated and energetic teaching staff, the staff clearly care, a large community of dedicated and engaged parents, lots of different cultures are represented, there is significant focus on social/emotional learning, about 50-60% of the staff has been at the school since we first started there, it's a very personal school where everyone knows everyone, people want everyone here to succeed, socioeconomic status is not shamed, the teaching staff has flexibility to modify parts of their curriculum to better serve the needs of their students, there is a lot of pride in being apart of your community, there are Black Lives Matter signs on the walls around the building, there's a focus on belonging.CONS: There are a lot of teachers that are brand new or in their first few years of teaching which just means less experience. I have found that this means that the teaching staff struggle to manage the chaos of their classroom, particularly for struggling students. For special education, this school is understaffed. The existing special education staff is wonderful, but there's just not enough support staff to meet the needs of kids that have IEP's. Lack of extracurricular activities that are affordable. This program is connected to an afterschool childcare program that is on the bottom level. Almost all afterschool activities go through that program which is expensive.
