Wonderful diverse school with multiple programs. The IB Diploma Program is particularly strong, with high-achieving students who take very challenging course loads. Expectations are high and kids are well prepared for college, many of whom go onto top-tier universities. Facilities are well maintained and administrators are approachable and want the best for the RHS community. Really impressed with many of the teachers and a high percentage have advanced degrees.

Unbelievable school with a high achieving and challenging IB Program. I had 4 years of excellent teachers who also became caring friends by senior year. Great sports and school spirit. Smart hardworking kids in IB.

I can only speak about our experience with the IB program and it's been top notch. We've had 3 kids in the program and they were more than prepared for college. The curriculum and quality of the instruction in the IB program were quite high. Teachers were enthusiastic and engaged and my kids felt challenged. History and English departments were especially strong, although Spanish could be improved. Homework load is quite heavy at times. Dr. Minor is the head of the program and he lacks polish and charisma. I think the IB Program would be better represented by a more put together professional who can relate to the kids. Amy Early is wonderful, as is the new principal. More emphasis on enforcing the dress code for girls would be appreciated. Overall, we loved the IB Program!

My child attended RHS as a Freshman this past year. At orientation we were excited, as it seemed the administration was going to be great, class choices would be great, a strong zero tolerance on bullying as well as proper dress code enforcement. Well, thatwas very short lived. There is no dress code, I have seen girls wearing white spandex pants with black thongs, a short shirt and flip flops! Shorts could not be any shorter and some even where pajama shorts with fluffy slippers. They walk in right in front of the principal and school officers without being told anything. Administration, Counselors and teachers have been rude, have spoken down to my child, speak inapropriate in class, and do not offer any help when asked, they continually say ask someone else. One teacher, does not even teach on the subject, they are too busy talking about personal or religious stuff. The administration will tell you they have never had a complaint about whatever you may addressing, but in speaking with other parents this is a lie, just making sure the school looks good. Continued on other review.

This would be regarding the most fun school in the county, with the best students and staff. It will be my senior year so truthfully I am just looking for the coolest and funnest school in Sarasota.
