BEST SCHOOL IN THE COUNTY! If St Michael's currently has an opening, you should JUMP ON IT!!! It is a rare, hidden gem! I was born and raised here and the other schools we tried or considered did not have the standards we were looking for. You will only hear about it by word of mouth. The school is deliberately small--about 20 students in the entire school grades 1-8. The three teachers have first rate moral character, are bright, well educated, sensitive, and extremely dedicated to the students. The parents are genuinely nice--there is no annoying and wasteful social competition among the families. The children are kind and wholesome. Not a good fit if you or your child are difficult. It is an excellent school for calm, gentle, supportive team players who are intellectually curious and have an interest in the spiritual life. The graduates often become class presidents, leaders and valedictorians in their high schools. The campus is bucolic and feels like a cross between a garden of Eden and a monastery. My children love this school so much and my husband and I are so extremely grateful to the teachers for providing this quality of life for all of us.

St Michaels has been a Godsend for us. I find it far superior to the public and private schools our children experienced before. It delivers a first rate, caring education to each child. I know my children are viewed and treated as individuals there The care and attention which each student receives is truly unusual. Relationships between students (ranging from grades 1-8) are exemplary: bullying and teasing is not tolerated. The school families have unusually good relationships too. The curriculum is a blend of both traditional academic subjects, and individual attention usually associated with "alternative" schooling-- a combination of teaching styles that requires a great deal of skill and devotion from the teachers. There is a strong moral foundation, including daily chapel. Students don t need to be Orthodox (our family is not). We find the moral lessons learned to be some of the most valuable aspects. St Michaels seems a place set apart from the disturbing aspects of the modern world-- a feeling we did not have at other schools! I credit the extraordinary teachers for all these results, and recommend this school highly.

St Michaels is a wonderful school for anyone seeking an environment of learning, music, play and values. The staff care deeply about each and every student and help nurture their development emotionally and academically. It has been one of the most positive decisions we ever made regarding our child's education.

We wanted a school that was academically excellent while warm and nurturing. The school needed to be beautiful, but not necessarily posh. I wanted our children to learn the virtues and work on character development, music, art, and have excellent books to read. St. Michael's is all this and more. The girls are learning wood working skills by carving, sawing and sanding a plate; they do archery or climb a fig tree and claim a snack at recess. The students, grade 1-8 all play together. The younger ones can expect an older one to listen to them read - the older ones also get to help nurse the little one's bruises and scrapes - and chase them happily around the garden and field. The students come from a variety of backgrounds culturally and religiously. The Orthodox Christian faith is certainly important as the children and teacher all pray together each day - and over half the children come from non-Orthodox backgrounds. The library has over 1,000 books, all of which are wonderful. Since there are not more than 20 students per year, whether children are excelling, moving along fine, or struggling, they are assured individual instruction.
