I found the Principal here to be very unresponsive to our concerns. I've sent her multiple emails and I've received no response. This is very telling of how engaged she is with the students and families that go here. I would not recommend this school based on our experience here.

My experience as a student at TOES as people now call it (Twin Oaks Elementary School) was horrible. I went to TOES from 3-5 grade. I begun class and my first friend I made was a kid that had to be moved to our class because some kid had done something inappropriate to him. That kid was still aloud around my friend and did more things to him. I was bullied for all of my years at TOES. The school counselor/social worker would only give me toys but would do nothing to help with what I was going through. The bullying I faced got so bad yet the person who was bullying me remained in my class. My mom requested numerous times for me to be able to move schools and nobody ever let me. The school simply did not care. I faced a lot of harassment and kids would do very inappropriate things all of the time and teachers wouldn’t say a word about it. In fourth grade my teacher had too many students LEGALLY. She had more students than what a teacher was supposed to have. She would neglect the more quiet kids and let the loud “popular” kids get away with whatever they wanted. The principal was horrible to me and gave me a week long punishment where I wouldn’t get recess or lunch and had to sit in her office. All I did to receive this punishment was simply accidentally walk on the WRONG SIDE of the hallway.

Our old elementary school (20 minutes away) was far superior as far as public schools go. Twin Oaks doesn't feel cohesive, dual language is great if that is what you have been in since TK/K but for a transferring 5th grader hard to get attached when most things are done in Spanish. Office staff not friendly and lack of discipline throughout the school.

TOES has been more than a school. They’ve become family. We have an autistic son and his brother. I literally can’t say enough about how much they’ve loved on us, supported us, loved on my boys, and have always worked with us to better them. There has been a change in leadership and that was sad. But the support is definitely still there.I can’t find one example of a bad teacher. They’re the best!I think the biggest take away is the parents and how they interact. We’ve always believed 100% in a parent/ staff relationship. We love the staff, support them and trust them. I’m return they trust us and work with us.It’s so hard being a teacher these days. We’re so incredibly blessed with TOES. I’ll be very sad when our time there is done.

My daughters love TOES. Staff and leadership have changed during our time here, but the sense of school community couldn’t be better. All the school events are so fun. We love Friday spirit rallies! The PTO is very involved and is committed to funding arts and music programs. My youngest is in the dual immersion program and it’s really cool to see her learn so much!

Bullying doesn't get taken care of, apathetic staff, but teachers are great. Overall would not recommend though. Overall environment is terrible.

Overall my daughter loves her teachers and the class. Not sure why the recent downgrade as they have been improving not declining

Great school, all three of my daughters are attending or have attended the school. My oldest has special needs and they did a great job maximizing her potential and making her feel part of the community. Both my other daughters are thriving, with the 5th grader now having done choir, student council, peace patrol, etc. my first grader is just starting her adventure.

We moved to Twin Oaks from another highly rated San Marcos school, and the difference is night and day. Twin Oaks is a smaller school, and the teachers are so much more engaged in the success of my children. It seems more laid back but much more engaging. The principal, Mrs. Jacobsen, is amazing. There are a ton of opportunities for extra help and also for kids to learn leadership skills. We are very pleased.

My Daughter went to Kindergarten and now she has completed her first grade. Principal Mr. Baum is outstanding who has done a wonderful job by having many Art programs and so much activities to keep parents involved. Teachers are awesome who works very closely with students. I would highly recommend TOES to any parent.
