Academic wise this school really challenges you and wants to see you grow. The coaches are extremely supportive and give you the respect you deserve. I like that they treat you like adults because that makes the young students realize that they should be mature and they become leaders that way. I noticed that in most of my favorite classes, the teachers and students had a closer and easier relationship when the teachers didn't constantly yell or bicker with the students. In these classes, students and teachers mutually respected each other which made class go by quickly and smoothly. Strict teachers who constantly yell at their students, just made them disobey and misbehave. Overall the school is pretty good. They come up with great incentive programs that make students behave very well. I think some things they could work on are controlling the fights better and patrolling the students' after school spot more. I wish they would also constantly educate students about racial and LGBT issues because most kids are uneducated and think that it's okay to say racist and homophobic slurs.

My daughter just graduated 8th grade from this school, the 2 first years were very good, but this year they had a new principal and vice-principals, the year was bad, I saw a lot of bullying, fights in and out campus, and a lot of indiscipline, my nephew was in 7th grade, he had at least 5 teachers for english just for this year, the indiscipline was a big issue, a lot of parents didn't even met the principal, I'm very disappointed on how this year went, I don't know if my nephew will be coming back next year. Teachers, PE coaches and the ladies in the office were good.

In the beginning we started off rocky but once I opened my mouth and did what a parents supposed to do then things run a little smoother. I am thanking them because as I'm ready to have my baby they areally trying to find ways to help me get my son to school. I have never had a school offer that for me or heard of it happening. So thank you! Parents all you have to do to have a good school is be a parent and support you school and always be aware.

As a student of Alpha: Blanca Alvarado Middle School, I believe this school is one of the worst I have ever went to. The student community is disrespectful, impolite, and overconfident about themselves. Think I'm making this stuff up? No, I'm not. An 8th grader ran out of his classroom, out onto the sidewalk and into the streets even after his teacher demanded for him to get back in his classroom. Another time: a 7th grade student purposely dumped his chips onto the grass and was scolded at his teacher for doing so; however, he talked back to his teacher in a very rude manner. I'm very disappointed in this school. Not only is the behavior of the students in Alpha poor but the education system is poor, too. Many of the teachers were inexperienced and...let's just say they didn't do their job very well. A majority of the classrooms I passed in the hallways contained students that were treating the classroom as a jungle playground. The curriculum this school teaches us is reviewed very briefly. I didn't learn anything new during my year at this school. The only reason I'm giving this school 2 stars is because the P.E. program is decent; however, I'm pretty sure the reason why Alpha: Blanca Alvarado's students misbehave so much is because of the P.E. program. I expected much more out of this school and this is truly my honest opinion.

Yes, I like Alpha Public School (Blanca Alvarado) because I based on how much the school staffs have taken care of students about discipline, study. If your daughter/son wants to make up/dress up before going to this school. Please keep your child away from this school.I leaned how it was good in the conference meeting. My child showed me how much they have done. Teacher and I listened my kid's presentation.Blanca Alvarado parent.

A new parent in need of a new school; my main goal for the upcoming school year. After reviewing, searching and attending several school tours (private, public and charters), I discovered a hidden school. A talented, structured and supportive team. Could it be possible such school existed?? To my surprise it was over and beyond my expectations. In a short period of time child has been able to adjust in many ways. The teachers and administration are the main key to a successful school. Their form of teaching, their love and support to their students, has no limits. I applaud them in many ways but especially for not leaving any child behind. Kudos to Alpha: Jose Hernandez Middle School.!!!!
