The principal Ms Alley is very aggressive. She is not supportive and passively aggressively dismisses any concerns by parents. She allows students to be bullied online and shows no consequences for those that mock and harass their peers based on discrimination and hate. She shows no concern for student safety and has allowed physical confrontations to occur that could have been prevented with proper supervision. Security doesn’t secure campus and has left campus gates open and front of school is completely unsupervised after school, I have witnessed and had to call to report suspicious people talking to students as a result of their poor supervision.

Don’t send your kids here if you could. This school is one of the worst I saw. They only care if the students “making” any troubles instead of helping them get some skill or knowledge. All they do is sending you junk mails daily promoting their useless Book of the year, or some pointless slogan like “be a bulldog”. If you go there in the morning, you will see how messy the traffic is. They cannot even handle this kind of small issue while they have such a huge parking lot. They save the lanes to let teacher go in with privilege. This is setting a very bad example for the students. It tells them that teachers and parents/students are not equal. The teachers can cut into the line without waiting.I don’t want to waste too much time to complain. But all I can suggest is going to somewhere if you have choice. The management team determine the level of the school. They just want a smooth transition for their career, but not a great future for the students.

The campus is good, although there are some walls and equipment that have student damage on them.

AMAZING! It has many extra academic activities that most schools don't have, the teachers are awesome, and WE GET PIZZA!

As a student, Jefferson is an outstanding school! They give us many choices for electives so that we can enjoy what we learn. The teachers are always there to help you out and support you. There are also many extracurriculars, such as sport teams and clubs. This year the Varsity Girls Volleyball team was undefeated. Plus the Mock Trial Team is outstanding as well as the Speech and Debate team which feeds into our high school speech & debate team at Gabrielino which is #1 in the nation! Plus the campus is beautifully maintained by the super kind custodians. And because of their hard work, our school was used as the setting for the TV series, The Kicks by Alex Morgan! Plus every 2 weeks on Wendsday we would have motivational speeches in the gym lead by staff members! Once BACA ( Bikers Against Child Abuse) came to talk to us and we were told that this was a safe place. Another time Olympic Gold Medalist, Dain Blanton came to our school to talk about preserving in everything we do and it was so inspirational. All the students and staff are welcoming and kind! Everyone is one big family, known as the Bulldogs!

The overall atmosphere is pretty bad. Most of the students are dumb and are generally pretty crappy. I went to one of the basketball games and the team sucked. The refs always missed simple stuff like traveling and were really prejudiced toward the guest team.

As a parent of a student to Jefferson Middle School, I think that the schools's one of the best middle schools I have ever seen. For starters, although not all, most teachers are very passionate about learning, are very engaged with students, and really want their students to succeed. Along with that, the school has integrated common core, and even my son, a bright 8th grader, wrote several poems about science, math, and an arts program in Honors, or AP English class. In his Honors History class, his teacher had him write an essay (Language Arts) about his own take on certain debates. The school is also extremely fortunate that it still offers multiple electives and arts programs, for example, JMS offers 2 levels of Art, 3 different levels of Orchestra, Band, an award winning Mock Trial team, rigorous computer courses, and my personal favorite, the Speech and Debate team. A nationally ranked team, it's practically built up it's own dynasty. In fact, recently my son informs me we took home almost every trophy for several categories! The coach is an amazing and wonderful person. Personally, Jefferson is an excellent school to attend.
