My fourth child starts at Lick this year, and I am confident that he'll experience the same thoughtfulness and compassion that his three siblings did during (and after!) their time at Lick. Each child came away with a greater sense of self, empathy for others, insatiable curiosity, and a desire to contribute. And just as importantly, the friends made at Lick are not just friends. These are soulmates - people who will be with them for all of the lives. I've loved each of the kids my kids have brought home, and I couldn't ask for anything more.

Although it is a little difficult, the workload is manageable, the people you will meet are extremely nice and friendly, sports teams are competitive, and the campus is beautiful. Easy to get to by bart and the 43. Feel 100% confident I will go to a good college because of how Lick has prepared me academically.

I think that everyone's experience at lick whether positive or negative, is a reflection of how much effort and contribution they make to building the community. I truly believe that the people who bravely took the steps to meet with teachers, create meaningful relationships, and establish their presence were the ones that enjoyed lick the most. Do not expect your time at Lick to be enjoyable if you don't try to make it enjoyable. That being said, Lick is not for the faint-hearted.

Teaching style is too chaotic. Homework load requires much more than they report in the handbook. World language program is not that great -- no matter which language you take. Lacks clear communication. Some grades are very subjective. There are no activities for the students to really enjoy - dances, events, parent-student events, team sports appreciation etc... Not as diverse as it reports. This is unfortunate because I was excited to be excepted into Lick. Now I truly question my decision.
