We have had an amazing experience so far, and our expectations have been exceeded. In particular, I want to call out the high-quality of the classroom and enrichment teachers. They are experienced, well-trained, loving, and devoted to their students. I've been impressed with the academic and socio-emotional progress my daughter has made, as well as the strength of the community that exists at the school, among staff, teachers, and parents.

Highlight is community and outdoor education. Less progressive than some other schools but teachers *care* and families plan and show up for events!

WARNING: Do not come here if you have an IEP. The special education teachers (RSP) do not do their jobs and do not care about you or your child. They are disorganized and incompetent. The new principal there won't do a thing about it.

We have had such a wonderful experience at Jefferson with our two kids. The teachers are dedicated to fun, inspiring and engaging class assignments. They balance the fundamentals with art, science and a strong emphasis on outdoor education. They just won a grant for outdoor learning! The parent community and PTA is actively engaged and works closely with the teachers and leadership. I would highly recommend this school anyone who is looking for a warm, passionate, engaging, school environment that inspires a love of learning with their kids.

We are going on our 4th year at Jefferson and still have nothing but great things to say about the teachers, staff and student body. Both my son and daughter are testing above state grade level expectations consistently and the social support is unmatched.

Very good School, it is because of the dedicated teachers and a very warm , loving, hard working principal Ms. Cranna. She knows each kid by the name. She greets the parents , she is there in the morning and the afternoon at the school gate helping the kids and ensures safety at all time. PTA here is very hardworking, tries to take advantage of every possibility to raise money for the school activities. There is a green environment strongly preached, which is obvious with the garden that has vegetables, flowering plants, fruit trees grown with the help of little volunteers- the students of Jefferson. The kids come home with a lot of enthusiasm and narrate what they did at school. There is hardly any day my little ones have had a low moment at school. There is parent involvement, parents can go volunteer in their childs clasroom by signing up at the office. There are educational field trips to various places in and around San Francisco. Even the K kids get an opportunity to go overnight camping. Fun!

Jefferson has been a lovely community for my son, who is now entering 1st grade. We were assigned there with very little knowledge of the school and could not be more grateful for his placement. The teachers are easily the secret ingredient to making the school and community so inviting and successful. Though located right on 19th Avenue, the greenery and garden at Jefferson are beautiful--and are an amazing resource from which children can learn science. Our PTA continues to grow and focuses on raising funds for extra activities for the children. Jefferson is a gem.

Jefferson is excellent because of its' amazing staff of teachers and professionals. Every year, we are blessed by great teaching and a compassionate understanding of kids. Jefferson encourages direct parent participation and volunteerism. It is one of its' strengths. Jefferson is working toward ambitious goals in outdoor and garden education, updating its computer and tech learning capabilities, and keeping true to providing a great deal of art and supplements to science education. This is a school you will want to take a look at!
