Such a great little school. The teachers, principal and staff all adore the kids and really care about them. There is a lot of support and community here.

I went to this school love the teacher they are amazing.the school is in a safe neighborhood . If I have kids I would send them here because they do not just punish the kid they talk about why they did it and not to do it again . Very small school like less than 200 kids . Very good school to send you kid . Also their is no bullying at this school not even one kid .

I moved to the neighborhood 6 years ago and was unsure about Rowan, but there have been so many improvements that I gave it a chance. It’s a great little school, my son is learning so quickly, they are STEM, are part of the Sage Garden Project, and the rainforest school project. They get great exercise during Impact and there is lots of school spirit, even during Covid. We also get great support from the teachers and counselors. Loving walking to school!

I love working at this school. There is a great climate of positive support for all students and staff. There is a big emphasis on developing strong leadership skills in the students.

This is an amazing school. The small size creates a community environment that is more like a large family. There is an active PTA and several events held throughout the year.

A small school like Rowan is great for young kids in elementary because everyone knows each other and it is like a family. There are many family events and an active PTA.

This is an okay school. The teachers and some parents really care about this school. I think the parents who complain about it aren't putting in effort to make it better. Join the PTA, volunteer for a fundraiser, volunteer in a classroom. It's a group effort by the parents, students, teachers, and administration.

That school is terrible. Teacher seem nice and willing. Yet bullying, horse play, isolation ( my daughter was the only white and pretty much by herself the whole year). The direction is just following state guidelines... We had just moved in the neighborhood, what a mistake!!! i am so happy my daughter is out of that school.

When we moved to this neighborhood I wasn't excited about the school. My now 10 year old attended preschool here very briefly and it wasn't the greatest experience. I was used to the Del Mar district and this school is no Del Mar. Mostly because Del Mar has the families with the ability to do serious fundraising and this school is in a poorer neighborhood. That said, I love the school now! They were an underperforming school but they have made tremendous progress and my son is blossoming there. This is mostly because of his awesome teacher. She pushes every year to keep her same class. This allows continuity and the teacher has a great relationship with all of the students. Over the years she is an expert on what each child needs. My son's test scores have gone from underperforming and average to above average and exceeding standards. I could not be happier. Yes it is an old school, yes I would love for it to have an updated website, but most importantly yes I would make the decision to send my son here all over again. My daughter begins kindergarten here in the fall and I couldn't be happier about it.

I think this is a good school. They do a lot for the kids and for the families and communities too. We've never had a problem here in three years.

Not only does this school have a free Primetime program for before and after school care; but it is an exceptional program: teaching travel, art, personal responsibilities, etc. etc. The Primetime staff is caring, qualified and exceeds expectations.

This is my daughters second year attending Rowan, and I am not a happy parent. It all started last year when I heard a teacher raising her voice and be somewhat sarcastic with my 5 year old. I complained to the principle and she did seem genuinely sorry for the whole ordeal. And assured me she would talk to the teacher. I felt relieved and content. But, later I find out that apparently I am not the first to complain about this teacher, and that some parents had even removed their child from her class! I felt it was all an act, and I felt like she really worked a number on me. I mean come on, how many parents need to complain about a teacher being nasty to children before some action is taken? With that said I'm not disqualifying all staff there. There are a few teachers who genuinely look like they have found their calling in life and enjoy the students & teaching.

When my child went there she had a teacher by the name of Ms Soloman. She is without a doubt was the worst teacher my child has ever had. She spoke to my child about adult topics and was extremely unstable. She had panic attacks while the kids stood by and watched. She should not be teaching.
