This is the first year for my kids (3rd and 5th) and they are loving it! In my experience the teachers and the admin are all welcoming. They have had multiple events to engage the familles. I really wish my children would have attended this school sooner. I do wish they came home with simple study packets but my children are able to log into the online app to work on extra assignments. Both my students read at home. I also signed up to be apart of the PTA and everyone seems welcoming. Overall I love this school and I’m really surprised to see negative comments.

To give one star is all I can do based on the teachers are nice. I am sending my child to learn and as a NEISD school I am so disappointed and so fed up beyond words. The teachers and staff to include principal have really lack luster attitudes towards learning. Nothing is sent home. This is up to the teachers whom I find don’t want to take anything home such as papers to grade. Parents beware, most work is done online on computers. Studies show this screen time should be limited. No work, no spelling tests, no reading logs, basic stuff, nothing is sent home. Teachers here do the minimum. The only focus is the STAR tests. If you are a parent who cares about and wants to be involved in the learning process of your child, send them somewhere else. I thought being a NEISD school would be great but each year the same Ada yards of nothing. I have resulted in teaching my own child on the khanacademy.org. And we wonder why all these studies show our children are steadily declining in academics. I have reached out to the principal and to the superintendent but nothing. I am just one mom who actually wants to be involved in my child’s academics. Don’t send them here to Fox Run. If you don’t care about your child having homework or reading or spelling, and don’t care what grades they make, then this is the school for you. You decide. Frustrated mom

Has been a wonderful school an environment for our family. Beautiful effort out forth by all who teach and lead our students.

My son enjoyed being a part of this school. i can't speak much because he's only been going here for 1 year. The only two things i have a problem with is that the bathroom for the kids smells horrible!!! The minute you walk in the school, the smell just smacks you in the face! They need to take care of that daily! it smells so unsanitary. Also, i think the school playground should be changed to foam instead. My son comes home everyday with white knees and dusty white shoes. Other than that, the school is fine.

I have been with this school for 5 years now since my daughter started kindergarten. We live in the neighborhood and this is our designated school. The neighborhood is quiet. I have to say the teachers have seemed very nice and motivated, however I agree with the previous post. My daughter missed 2nd grade due to Covid, 3rd grade she received no homework or graded papers, and fourth grade has been a little bit better since demanding that something be sent home so that I know what my child is doing, what she needs to work on, and to build a foundation of good study habits for the future. Although some graded papers have been sent home, and communication is better with her teacher, it has been very disconcerting that I really am out of the loop as far as class work, projects, and events. It is almost April and she has had no homework other than a reading log. It seems there is very little organization. In speaking with the principle, it is the option of the teachers to give homework. I do like the school but I feel that they can do better to keep parents more informed, esp in regards to schoolwork. I have noticed that there is a breakdown in behavior of many of the students in my child's class on a daily basis to include yelling, cursing, acting out and disrupting class, etc. I am not sure if these children live in the neighborhood or are using school of choice. It scares me to think what their behavior will be like when they get older. As far as the safety of the school goes, I did see many improvements from parent suggestions such as keeping the students in school to be individually let out, rather than all sitting outside. I have been with NEISD for many years and have 4 older children. This is the first time, I have been seriously contemplating homeschooling my child.

I chose this school because of the good rating. This is our third year and it has gradually gotten worse. There is no communication about what the children are doing. The PTA sends nothing home to the parents. My son is always disappointed because I don't attend events. The only exception is fund raising. You will receive messages daily about fundraising. It's obvious where their priorities lie. I would never choose this school again. If you want to be involved or know what your child is doing, go somewhere else!

Since the last two principals are fine with the average child. But if your child needs special attention from mental to physical needs this is not your school. Find another school because this one is completly incompetent of helping you and your child. The school is great as long as your child doesn't need any accommodations. If you feel your child might have learning disabilities then you can forget getting any help from that department. They are completely incompetent when it comes to doing their job. You will have to get them tested outside of the school and even then getting them into the programs they need is hopeless.

We chose our home when moving to San Antonio because of the reviews on Fox Run...we are NOT disappointed! I could not be happier with the staff, especially the leadership. John Hinds is an EXEMPLARY leader and I truly feel he runs his campus as a dad. His weekly emails to parents are something we look forward to each week. Our son has excelled academically, and we are pleased with his performance and the open communication with his teacher. Parent involvement is amazing, and there are plenty of opportunities available for parents who work full time but would still like to be involved :) our son loves attending "hoops with dad" on Saturday mornings! Fox Run has been a wonderful experience, and we could not be happier!

My son went to Stahl Elem. for Pre-K and now attends Fox Run Elem. for Kinder. I would never have know there could be such a complete difference from one Elementary to the next but I did notice almost immediately. Fox Run is exemplary. The entire staff has been nothing short of gracious and accomodating. The Principal stands in the front entrance of the school greeting all of the students upon entry. My son likes going to Fox Run. He feels important to his teacher and other staff members. We plan on moving within the next couple of years and one of my stipulations is that we must stay in the Fox Run District.
