I had a teacher tell say "she will not change for someone with a disability." And she has high expectations for her students. My sons a Kindergarten in Bonham Primary which is part of the academy school. He was struggling with his behavior as we are waiting for therapy. They had a task force for my son because they didn't know how to handle him. And the teacher is triggered by my son. The teacher is always sending him out of the class when he is being difficult, instead of trying to learn and help my son. She rather not deal with him.

The school is over populated and traffic is the worse, the school needs to be updated and teachers and staff are so rude, they don’t have a special need class and if your low income they put you on a waiting list and tell you to go to another school, which honestly your child is not on the list

No respect to only English speaking students Spanish language is dominating even in dual language classes for English only speaking students (is still dominated with Spanish language towards Spanish students ignoring the fact that American English speaking child doesn’t understand teachers conversations with Mexican students)Special education support is a total joke Also bullying is allowed without any consequences The level of the curriculum is another joke no progress, and if you move your child from this school to a better one, you can be sure your student will be the worst-graded student from missing a lot of studies

Bonham Academy is within San Antonio ISD, so it will be limited by the school district's mandates to drill, teach to the test, and to do just the minimum to ensure enrollment and funding. The principal has been at this school for three years and has failed to show leadership and creativity. Her actions are dictated by the district's anxieties and fears, due to its "unacceptable" rating, because of low test scores in the school district overall. It is not a true dual-language school, since there are few actual Spanish-speaking children in each class. So much potential there. Frustrating.

the Dual Language Program is fantastic. My kindergartener is able to speak and read in English and Spanish!
